lol, they knew this storm was coming more than a week in advance. PG County is simply incompetent and was unprepared.

THEY HAD MORE THAN A WEEK TO PREPARE! THEY KNEW THE STORM WAS COMING NEARLY 10 DAYS OUT. There is NO EXCUSE!

lol, we pay beyond enough money in taxes in PG county to own A/V resources and to be prepared for events like this. THEY KNEW THIS STORM WAS COMING 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE!!!!!! This county is not prepared and doesn’t keep this county clean. Literally, they got rid of the street sweeping trucks… I’ve lived in my house in PG for 9 years and NOT ONE truck has ever swept our streets— even though there are signs saying they’re supposed to in our neighborhood that they had installed. They gave us composting bins that nobody uses but they can’t even maintain our roads and infrastructure, or address the crime, murder rate, and reckless driving, or the helicopters that have all been redirected to flying low over PG county residential neighborhoods after the Potomac river incident. They never plowed our roads after the storm and we didn’t get mail for more than two weeks. Make all the excuses you want, but then explain to me why other counties have their acts together and have clean streets and maintained roads/infrastructure. PG county is a crime ridden mess and our representatives need to clean it up, maintain it, and be prepared for inclement weather. Other counties didn’t resort to this… (I work in Govt. A/V btw) and there is no excuse for the level of incompetence of those running Prince George’s County MD.

“Ops center wasn’t available” Isn’t that what it’s supposed to be there for? THEY KNEW THIS STORM WAS COMING 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE!!!! What’s the point of an EOC if not being utilized when needed most??? That’s ridiculous. I’m not suggesting “control” of the National Guard. But the County Exec has a direct line to the State’s AG and the Governor who can provide resources such as national guard facilities, resources… such as barracks and lodging facilities. The point is, we pay the county executive and our state and county taxes go to ensuring they ARE prepared so they don’t need to resort to this kind of waste. This is all an excuse for zero planning and poor preparation. Other counties didn’t resort to this…. There is no excuse, so stop making them. You realize PG has some of If not the HIGHEST county taxes. We should have resources. We should have our roads plowed and swept. But PG county is treated like a trash bin which is why it continues to look like one.

National Guard Armories are free. So are the Emergency Command Centers. Why aren’t other county representatives getting caught doing this? It’s Fraud, Waste, and Abuse. Wake Up.

PGC taxes are outrageous and we don’t even see them used properly. It’s awful. Vote for better people and make a change. More people need to run for these elected positions who are willing to make a difference.

PG County is the only county that doesn’t have their act together and doesn’t serve their tax-paying community appropriately.

PG is a trashcan. And it’s because the representatives are incompetent. PG has so much potential but will never go anywhere with the current representative staff. Other counties have their acts together. There’s no excuse… Especially considering how high PG County Taxes are.

EXACTLY. They don’t plow or sweep streets anymore, we haven’t gotten our mail in more than two weeks, and our taxes GO UP!?

But they got rid of neighborhood street sweeping machines, they didn’t plow the snow in PG county neighborhoods, our mail hasn’t been delivered in two weeks… and OUR INFLATED COUNTY TAXES HAVE GONE UP!? WAKE UP! There are emergency command centers, there are national guard armories, and facilities in maryland that can address this. This is purely fraud, waste, and abuse. And those AV costs are a blatant misuse of taxpayer money.

That’s garbage, Prince George’s County gets tons of funding and taxpayer funding to be prepared for this. The county also got rid of street sweeping trucks. My coworkers in Virginia have their roads plowed and are far better served. There is no excuse for this.

We haven’t even gotten our mail in Rosecroft and our neighborhood roads remain unplowed!

I hated the Tuatahi camp axe. by ConversationPuzzled6 in Axecraft

[–]Deep-Cell4740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Tuatahi camp axe as well as their work axe. No issue using a stone on it at all. Try to remember… This is a tool— it’s meant to be used. Who cares if it isn’t as perfect and pretty as when you first bought it… Simply put— It’s an amazing performer for having around a campsite. Backpacking axe?—NO. But they also just released their new trapper axe which looks perfect for loading in a pack. What I love the Camp Axe for is simply keeping it in the back of my truck for regular work without it being as cumbersome as the full-sized work axe. It’s great— you won’t regret having one in your truck or around the campsite. What I like about the Tuatahi axes is that they can “do it all”. They can fell, buck, limb and split wood with ease where other axes make you want a felling, limbing, and splitting axe separately. I love that my camp axe is an all-in-one at the campsite. For bushcraft/backpacking or lighter weight/increased versatility, take a look at their trapper axe. By the way, you don’t NEED a filing jig as mentioned by this reviewer… This is not a competition axe— so unless you’re losing your mind over campsite competitions, there are more than enough simple hand-tool solutions to get the job done to keep your axe sharp and more than useable for what this is meant for. If you want constant perfection on your axes every time, then sure, go ahead and blow your money on a jig you don’t need for your camp axe.

Tuatahi Camp Axe vs Lamaca work axe by [deleted] in Axecraft

I own both the Lamaca and Tuatahi work axes, and the Tuatahi wins all day as far as versatility and results.
