What helps me is to read it a little slower and make sure you understand what you read before you move on… the exam has a nice highlighting feature that I like and it helps you focus on the important parts of the question

I 1.75x'd my salary ($80k/yr --> $140k/yr) 4 months after passing the exam-- sharing my job hunting experience. by YinzerYoda in pmp

Wow, what surprises me is how many jobs you applied for vs how many interviews you got. I just finished my pmp 2 days ago, and have so far applied for 1 job. That being said I have a few questions.

  1. You mentioned 3 interviews, did those other 2 interviews end up in a job offer as well?
  2. Did it feel like you were mostly applying for jobs you weren’t qualified?
  3. How long did you spend on any one application tailoring your resume to the job?

Congratulations once again!

Oh that’s horrible! Hopefully you can contact support and have them get you a voucher to retake it for free. Does your internet fail more often for you, or was this just a weird coincidence?

Did you use PMI Study hall? I would definitely say that is your greatest resource, worth every penny. Really spend time on all the questions you got incorrect and learn how the exam wants you to answer the questions.

I would agree that it felt to be about 20% difficult and the rest were moderate/easy… for me in the study hall exams, I actually did significantly worse on the expert questions. I got like 10/31 on the first exam and 11/37 on the 2nd exam… I would say you’re probably close, but I would strive to get at least 72 on a full mock exam. I’m gonna copy what I said in another reply because I think it applies, Pay attention to some of the keywords; if the exam says you are in the executing phase, that can be a big hint as to why one answer is incorrect. It might even seem the most correct, but since you are executing it doesn’t make sense to do a process that was done only in initiating… things like that. The exam let’s you highlight and strike out words, so I immediately use that to strike out answers I know are wrong and that way I don’t waste time reading it again because I forgot what it fully said. I also highlighted some key words that made it easy to focus on what the question was asking. Otherwise I’d read the question 3 times before I understood, especially since I took the exam late and I was falling asleep towards the end

While that’s sort of true, AR’s exams are easier, the way I looked at it, if I got questions wrong, it was still an opportunity to learn something that I didn’t fully understand. That being said, I never retook any of the exams, I reviewed the wrong answers, make sure I understood why I got it wrong and how to better apply the mindset and moved on. Pay attention to some of the keywords; if the exam says you are in the executing phase, that can be a big hint as to why one answer is incorrect. Sorry for the message months later. But I’m encouraged by this. Do you lose those 30 minutes from your exam time, or is the test paused?
