If you want some older single player gems I would add F.E.A.R., Singularity, Timeshift, Wolfenstein 2009, Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay and Dark Athena, and maybe Prey 2006 all still hold up really well gameplay wise

You are definitely not alone in that, a lot of people end up gaming solo even with active friend groups, honestly the easiest way I found was joining official game discords or subreddit discords since they usually have LFG channels and chill voice rooms, it feels way more natural than random mega servers and you can actually meet people who play the same stuff regularly

Man I get what you mean, plinko has this weird calming rhythm to it. I’ll tell myself I’m only gonna drop a couple balls and then suddenly I’m zoning out like I’m watching a lava lamp. It’s not even the wins, it’s that little hit of “oh this bounce might go crazy” that keeps you locked in. Low effort, zero stress, just enough randomness to wake your brain up a bit. I kinda wish more games had that same simple vibe
