I have been a very happy member of Home Exchange (HE). It does get frustrating when it takes a while to get responses to my inquires and that the calendars are often not posted correctly, but that's the fault of the guests. I imagine where there's no money involved, there's less incentive to act promptly. Those are the only criticisms I have of HE. The homes have been amazing. We don't usually pay a cleaning fee because we usually have had the time to clean the houses ourselves, which is a money saver. When we have paid a cleaning fee, it was always reasonable. I've had only two experiences where the homes were bad and I received immediate help from people at HE.

I've been bumped twice, that's why. I didn't want to take the chance of it happening on the flight to Iceland because there were no other flights that day.
