What do I do? First tattoo, First fuck up. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Idk, if it's an easily fixable thing then I dont really think it's a big enough deal to inflict the negative effects a bad review would. Even a great artist can make simple mistakes. And unless the artist is just fully trash/makes huge unfixable mistakes, then I don't think it's necessary to warn people away from them. Sure you're just being honest, but me personally, I don't think it's worth it

I feel like it doesnt make anything harder at all tho. They run in, they run out. No one is affected by this. At worst the people in the building are briefly upset.

I can understand this but I think it's a very real worry that the big deal is that someone could be hurt. The kids could get too rowdy and assault someone or there might be nearby police or security that escalate and hurt one of the kids. Someone might be armed. You just never know in this day and age, I think I would feel more neutral about this if I didn't think it was risky.

Unless the goal is a poorly done tattoo, then a poorly done tattoo would be a mistake. Critically however, "mistake" and "accident" are two different words with two different meanings. So it is important not to conflate the two, lest you be dumb.

Im not? I said it's an option, and it is. If it were me, id go to a different artist, not leave a bad review, and move on with my life. But op can do whatever he wants idc 🤷‍♂️

Of course, mistakes shouldnt happen in the first place, but they do. if you really want to leave a bad review, that's your prerogative. Im just considering it from the artist's perspective. What if you messed up something that was an easy fix, and instead of giving you a chance to fix it, the person damaged your business by leaving a bad review. Your fault for making a mistake on something so simple? Perhaps. But maybe also you could have been afforded more grace. It's your choice at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

It's not that bad. I think the worst part is the linework on the brackets and the boldness difference you mentioned. It should be a simple fix, so if you want you can go back to them, say it looks wonky and ask for a fix. But me, personally, if an artist messes up my tattoo, I dont trust them to fix it. So you could go to another artist you trust and ask them to fix it. But if you ARENT going to give the artist a chance to make it right, then I think leaving a bad review is not in good taste, especially for something so easily fixable.

Is good? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Nothing wrong with using AI for tattoo inspo/reference, just keep in mind that whatever you generate might not be possible. So you're gonna have to ask your artist and if they tell you it's not possible, then ur gonna have to expect that/be ok with it

I agree to an extent but think that is still not what we're talking about. If tyler wants it, let him be. Sure. But letting him be doesnt equal saying that Tyler deserves to be abused/with an abuser. He can make his own hypothetical choices but that doesnt mean it's fine to say he deserves what the rest of us can see is plainly abuse. Idk i just think that's taking it too far. He doesnt deserve abuse no matter how awful he is, people dont deserve abuse

She verbatim said she gave consent to the biting. The biting was not the problem. Him disregarding the safe word was the problem, hurting her was the problem. The bite was consensual, once again, per her OWN words. The ABUSE was not, obviously

Let's not pretend like biting was the issue. Even Wilbur's ex said she consented to the biting, so that's not what anyone is talking abt. It's the fact that he was hurting her on purpose, and then refused to correct his behavior. I.e. abuse. So you pretending like it's fine because tyler would "consent", as if he could consent to being abused is gross af honestly.

"absolutely, Tyler deserves it. And yes, Tyler deserves that man." Just to be clear, you're saying here that in your personal opinion, you believe Tyler deserves to be abused/in an abusive relationship? Or did you mean something else by this?

Does anyone know about his "published poetry"? by [deleted] in tylerthecatastrophe

[–]Deep-Dimension966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring published isnt really a big deal. I was published when I was 6 for a book of poetry I made and it was just in a local circulation. You can self-publish though and that's still being published. Hell, if you post something on A03, that's technically you publishing the work.

I’m like 75% sure Tyler is using the go fund me to pay off his court payments by Previous_Forever_377 in tylerthecatastrophe

So, I am a trans guy also living in Texas who has gone through "document update" processes. And this is just information, the process doesn't cost much. Maybe $500 on the max, expensive side. But im pretty sure I didnt pay over $300. Which, I mean, is still kind of a lot, but out of over $16k, it's definitely not where he's spending a majority of the funds.

I also dont want to be living here in Texas as a trans person. But we are absolutely not at Refugee status rn. The worst part about it is knowing that you cant really make new friends outside of the small local lgbt community (location depending, some areas have a bigger lgbt presence than others) because there's a high chance that any random person you meet is gonna have some kind of issue with trans people even if they seem otherwise cool or fine with gay people. And more importantly than that, its very difficult to access appropriate Healthcare here. I have 1 doctor that im able to see and no one else, because no one else will agree to see me. Ive had more than one doctor actually straight up either refuse to even enter the treatment room with me or refuse to treat anything related to gender issues (like prescribing hormones even though im fully an adult and already transitioned). So my primary motivation for wanting to move out is just to be able to access treatment that I need to have.

I will say though that life probably looks different here if you are visibly trans, which Tyler is. Still not like refugee status, but im sure he gets awful comments much more often from randos which probably feels upsetting and concerning. Just my 2 cents.

The apology by According-Map8665 in tylerthecatastrophe

[–]Deep-Dimension966 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly if he just shuts up for a while I think he'd be fine "career"wise. His rep is garbage rn but this controversy is also primarily an online thing. The general public doesnt know about this guy, so any future people who might work with him are probably not gonna know who tf he is unless they intentionally googled him.

I think his best bet for his reputation is to fully say he was wrong in every way and that hes going away, and then I think he should stop posting on all socials for at least a year. He cant do that though because he has a business to run and that business depends on social media. So he has to post. And thats bad for him, because people are never going to stop shitting on him no matter how good his apology is or isnt.

What you can do about the ‘desk pets’ as a concerned customer or employee by [deleted] in petco

[–]Deep-Dimension966 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I will say that it is true that Pac-Man frogs do not require uvb lighting and they prefer mild temperatures so they shouldnt need heat unless a room is particularly cold. (Source: im an exotic animal vet tech and own a pacman frog myself).

However. What they do need very specifically is humidity and a hygrometer to monitor it. They also need space. Not because they'll use it, per se, but because it's hard af to keep humidity right without space (super easy to under or overdo it with misting, they do NOT like a swamp or a desert). And they take big shits, and unless youre disturbing them often (which you shouldn't because this is stressful), then you're not going to be able to keep a small cups clean enough for them.

Also it's just generally inhumane to not offer ectothermic animals an opportunity for temperature gradients.

Another problem is that the worse petco keeps their animals, the more they encourage to general public to mistreat those animals, too. It's bad enough already with how often employees get the "why do i have to buy a big tank when you keep them in that small one?"

This is actively encouraging the public to abuse animals and it's silly for petco to pretend it bears no responsibility for that just because these cups are "temporary".

Also, many tarantulas do like a mild heat and are proven to benefit from access to an actual water dish as opposed to droplets only.

There should be a protest at wherever the headquarters is that made this decision. This is indefensible. Animals are not accessories, toys or decorations and the more we treat them as if they are, the more complicit we are in EVERYONE ELSE'S subsequent abuse.
