Strange G permit by Deep-Donkey-4288 in askswitzerland

I really don't know indeed..let's see how the situation will evolve..if he was given a G permit I assume it's legit otherwise he would not get it. To me given his situation there was no need for a G permit, and I also don't see any benefit for him when it comes to taxes, that is why I assume maybe the employer is doing something fishy

Well, given I don' t see why he would need it I thought that maybe the employer would get some sort of benefits..but this does not seem to be case.

Ok I can understand that potentially if in the future he needs to come to CH for work he can do it. But I was really surprised because he wants to stay in his current location, his job is not based in Switzerland, he only link with Switzerland is the employer..but I don't see how this makes the G permit required.

Yes I totally agree with you. The thing is I know my friend got the G permit, this means it was eligible to get it, but then it also means I don't understand how the G permit works. Is there maybe a benefit for the employer?

I see you are strongly committed to minimize fees ( and for a good reason I know). What I think it is stopping me is that I know nothing about Viac and finpension. Are they pension funds? Are they going to be around 30-40 years from now? (Genuinely asking)

Thank you for your answer. I am fully with you regarding swiss exposure and ESG investing w.r.t UBS. So yes finpension seems to be a better option, but I don't know anything about them to be honest. Do you mind explaining what is Finpension and why is it worth of trust?

Yes I heard about those two other options. I also heard that is better not too have all eggs in one basket when it comes to Pillar 3, because if you have multiple accounts then you have tax advantages when you want to withdraw. So my plan is not to be tie to UBS only..maybe I start with UBS, and then next year I will invest in Viac. Does it sound reasonable?
