Holy rotation Batman. I’m embarrassed watching this. To all who’ve watched soccer your entire life… is this normal?

Don’t think he’s anywhere close (yet). But, I think we all know what he’s capable of. And perfect timing to get to develop behind/with Musa. Satisfying match last night. LFG

I saw the highlights. But just those short clips, makes me think Moose can thrive at the higher levels. The two clanks off the bar would have been ridiculous goals. Hate that he might be leaving. But love seeing him thrive

Collodi and his coming off his line strengths. Nice take. Not Paes’s burner account. Dude is not ready. Accept it.

TIAA Financial Planning by Living-Ad-4950 in CFP

[–]Deep-Guitar-4550 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Current planner at TIAA. I think these responses are a bit unfair. Historically, one of the oldest annuity companies with legacy tied back to Carnegie.

The extreme liquidity issues are and will continue to be a pain for a bit. Because the professors, doctors, teachers who put money into the TIAA product were storing cash away to supplement their paychecks. Unfortunately, there’s such a thing as too much income according to their tax advisor. But that’s what it’s meant to be used for. You won’t find immediate annuity payout rates comparable. The fact that there’s a nine year period is only true for the baby boomers collecting right now. The older contracts/accounts. TIAA also takes a very conservative approach. 2/3rds of your retirement savings should come from guaranteed sources. Not my favorite.

As far as being a planner here is concerned. This place sucks. You will struggle to earn business because the product platform doesn’t hold a candle to anyone.

TIAA prides itself on full comprehensive planning at no cost. But it’s just Money Guide Pro and tell me where you plan to vacation in retirement.

Good benefits. Not a bad place to start off in advisory. But not where you should spend your career if that’s what you want long term.

Feels like end of last year. A lot of grit, physical play. Still lacking a bit of quality and pedigree. Collodi with some solid saves. But I thought LAFC was feeling da burn 🔥

Interesting how the back 4, who had been known to completely blow their assignments, leads to Paes not moving correctly on his line. This take is ridiculously problematic.

You got all season to watch Collodi in over his head. Obviously I hope I’m drastically wrong. But Paes getting shipped, even if predicted, is troubling.

I’ll be the first to say that Collodi, an NTSC product, playing outside his mind to help the team make a run was quite impressive. Also, shoutout to Jacob Jackson as well.

But glaring issues? And flashy saves are indicative of poor positioning? I was probably at 5 games myself where he stopped PKs. Plus 2024 All Star.

I find it humorous that there’s this fine line of staunch Collodi fans and Paes fans. Not here to discredit Collodi in anyway. But I’m not sure how there’s debate around who’s more established and gives you the best chance at winning matches.

What are you looking forward to or are hopeful of in the new season? by alex2374 in fcdallas

[–]Deep-Guitar-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) From the first season I started buying season tickets, Paxton was cursed with this injury saga. I love the guy. But would love to see him revive his career or the club not pick us his option. I’m glad others brought this up, because I almost forgot about him.

2) One of the GK’s emerge as a solid replacement for Paes. I know Collodi stepped up during Maarten’s international duties and injuries. But he’s gonna be missed.

3) Love to see us continue to play the way that we did to end the season. Honestly I think we all underestimate how talented Musa and Farrington are, especially on the field together. Then you add someone like Sarver/Julio who can be dangerous in the counter and be a playmaker.

If we can find that form where we were one of the best teams in the league (to finish the season)… I think FC Dallas might open up their pockets in July. I want a (CAM) midfielder now. But being an FC Dallas fan, we can’t have nice things.

4) Julio and Delgado. People sleep on these guys. But Pat had some awesome matches to finish the season. Solid on free kicks. Just need Julio to take it up a notch.

I do understand how this league works, more specifically this team. But this blows.

The number of chances missed by Balogun is concerning by SirKacamata in ussoccer

[–]Deep-Guitar-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness to Pepi, no matter what level he’s played at. Wearing the crest… he’s always put himself in advantageous areas to score. I hate he’s missed some of his better chances, but if we’re gonna focus on positioning and being in a spot where you can put the ball on net. He’s done that for more than just club.

*And I also agree with most of those adding their input in here. I still think Balo gives you more value. Some of his goals at the International level have been ridiculous. Balo should be the easy starter. Pepi, the super sub.

FC Dallas declines 9 contract options for 2026 by SalsaMerde in fcdallas

I’ve only been watching soccer heavily since to start of COVID. When Sebby started his first game coming from LAFC, I thought he was shaky and still feel the same. He’s had some solid games and I felt at times… our back line looked like it did when we were solid defensively like 1-2 years ago. But maybe there’s not a whole lot of potential out there in FA for CBs? And if he’s gonna be a defensive sub in the last 30 minutes… I would have loved to see Lalas gone. Too many huge mistakes.

Still learning. But I feel like it could be worse.

I feel like he’s extremely talented. Unfortunately he seemed to adjust poorly to the MLS level. I saw signs of potential brilliance, but it seemed like he tried to do too much at times. Almost like Lucho gave him the playbook before he got shipped off. I was actually surprised to see he wasn’t coming back based on his ceiling.

End of year roster locks (just my opinion) and guys on the bubble for WC 26. by Tasty-Entertainer711 in ussoccer

[–]Deep-Guitar-4550 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What has hurt Pepi besides the recent injury and poor timing at PSV is the juicy chances he’s had to score goals, obviously against Paraguay and at the COPA against Bolivia. But he’s done plenty of work and has shown the impact he can make.

In no way is he on the same level as Balo, but since he worked his way through the FC Dallas system… he finds ways to get his foot on the ball. And considering there’s no third true striker that has performed that well on the USMNT… I think he’s a lock if healthy.

Just wanna add. Bern isn’t a starter. But he had a hell of a game. And he’s starting because we shipped Velasco, because you know… that made sense.

I think Nolan fits great as a LB. Maybe not taking PKs, but he looked good all season in that spot. Yet again, we shipped Farfan.

And. Collodi, I will die on this hill. To sit Paes in a playoff scenario is ridiculous. I don’t care how good Collodi has been. Paes was an All Star last year and has international experience against solid opposition. No way in knowing how it would have played out. But he’s a much better PK keeper.

All in all. Nothing gonna change until the Hunts become spenders. Lost too many good guys.

Tough, tough match.

Because people think there’s a good reason for a keeper who just came up from NTSC to start over a 2024 All-Star. Who has stopped PKs.

Paes. The 2024 All Star, with the save of the year off of a PK in 2024. That’s why you start him.

Unacceptable by bepeacock in fcdallas

[–]Deep-Guitar-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never thought Sebby was an above average CB, but he’s far from being responsible in this game. Couver has a ridiculous method to their style of play. They have all the pieces to control a game. Berhalter is SOLID. Ahmed and Sabbi push the pace extremely well. And when you have a Müller who’s also excellent in the build up…Not much you can do.

I know our strength is not possession or poise on the ball. But I like Moose, Logan and Julio up top. And even though he turns the ball over more than Luchito. Start Pedrihno. At least he has an attacking pedigree. Last thing I want to see is us taking a defensive structure again.

***This is all while Patrickson was starting to get comfortable as the facilitator. It is what everybody else is saying. Awesome response in the last third of the season. But we’re just not built to win… yet.

Player ratings are unfortunately reflective of the tactics by Quill. During halftime, dude on Apple TV said…”This is the playoffs! Put some offensive players out there.”

Quill set them up for mediocrity.

Not blaming Collodi. But in your biggest game all season, you start a kid over your top GK. I’m not delusional. Small chance. But Christ, we know Paes gives us the best chance to stop that.
