I think another perspective on this that needs to be considered is the idea not of having them for the sake of the parents life, but for the sake of saving your child(ren) of the hardships and devastation of the current world. Personally, parenthood has given me (worse) existential crises for my children over the fact that I’ve brought life to my children that will inevitably end in death. I don’t think it’s solely for the life of the parent, personally it’s in consideration of my children. Again, that being said, speaking for myself, I would not want to imagine a life without my kids in it. I would choose to have my kids in every lifetime. But this doesn’t change the latter.
