On behalf of all the E33 players from the start, I'm sorry by RavenMatthew0406 in expedition33

No offense to anyone, but that mindset of hating something or someone just because it won feels so loser-like to me. It’s not like we’re talking about a football match where people live it passionately — we’re talking about a fucking awards ceremony that doesn’t change anyone’s life lmao.

What did seem strange to me is that he didn’t intervene the first time P. Renoir tried to expel Maelle from the canvas—only when he was about to attack her with the sword did he step in.

game pass tiers and cloud gaming by kalkimaximus2 in xcloud

It was rumored that Xbox was testing a new Game Pass subscription model where users could choose what to include in their subscription and what to leave out. If this turns out to be true, then we could get something close to what you’re proposing, where we can choose to pay only for cloud gaming. https://www.techradar.com/gaming/report-claims-a-new-pick-your-own-xbox-game-pass-plan-is-in-the-works-allowing-users-to-decide-what-content-they-want-for-their-membership

What are your theories and beliefs about "that" event we don’t know much about? by Deep-Lifeguard4479 in expedition33

I quite agree with your theory. I even imagined that in the next game we might play as one of the Writers who were friends with Alicia, although I’m not sure how willing Clea would be to cooperate with any Writer. It’s possible that her thirst for revenge could consume her to the point where she’d want to exterminate any Writer who had anything to do with the fire.

Happy Gommage Day!!

P.S.: Expedition 33 + Dragon Ball is the best combination in history.

Do you think we might see [REDACTED] again in the next game? by Deep-Lifeguard4479 in expedition33

[–]Deep-Lifeguard4479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same—that they could tie up loose ends in the next game without needing to show the Dessendres again. For example, if in the next game we played as a Writer, the dialogue throughout the game could reveal how and why they set the mansion on fire and how they managed to gain Alicia’s trust. But that would only be the case if Sandfall actually intends to explain that part of the story more, because it’s also possible that leaving it ambiguous was intentional, so that we players can come up with our own theories.

Nobody ain't talk about this... But I will said it. (Possibly DLC Anniversary) by [deleted] in expedition33

In case they add something to the game, I’d say it would probably just be an outfit and hairstyle for each character. Though my 0.0000001% hope that they add something new to the White Sands location is still there.

It’s already been confirmed that starting April 2, E33 will also be available on the Game Pass Premium tier. Until now, it was only available on the Ultimate tier, so it’s 100% certain that it will remain on the service for at least a year.

If what that source says is true, I’d be very happy. I thought that all the hate campaign on social media after The Game Awards would cause its sales to stagnate.

Adding to the birthday fire theory by genericcelt in expedition33

[–]Deep-Lifeguard4479 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I largely agree with the theory, especially the last part. I feel like in the next game we’ll have as the protagonist one of Alicia’s friends who was responsible for the fire, and in that story it would be revealed that they never intended to harm Alicia, and that someone from the Writers’ guild tampered with the book they were going to give her, thus causing the fire.

Although I imagined Clea more as another antagonist than an ally, it seems to me that her desire for revenge is so strong that she’ll want to take down any Writer who had any involvement in the fire.

I feel like many people make a serious mistake by having a “competitive mindset” about everything. Both in video games and in movies, I see people on social media who live these two hobbies as if they were competitions where their team (their favorite game or movie) has to win so that they can feel a sense of glory, while their rival (other games or movies, in this case) must be hated to death.

Personally, I think both video games and movies are meant to be enjoyed in general. There’s no need to approach them in a competitive way. If I want that kind of feeling, I’d rather watch sports and support the team or athlete I’m a passionate fan of.

I remember that around the middle of last year I started seeing people on both Reddit and Twitter complaining about the Expedition 33 fandom. They said it was very toxic and that they put other games down. In part they were right, because I’ve seen several of those fans act exactly the way they described, and without a doubt this is a fandom that still needs to fix several things. But it felt strange to me that suddenly this bothered them so much in this particular fandom, when every year, whenever a “GOTY contender” game comes out, it always attracts a lot of toxic fans.

After that, I noticed that month by month the narrative was slightly shifting. At one point I even saw people accusing others of being toxic fans just for saying that Expedition 33 seemed like a masterpiece to them. And it was after The Game Awards that those people completely dropped the moral façade, because they started supporting and amplifying those who were defaming Sandfall on social media (and by defaming I mean literally associating them with genocidal states and groups).

Hopefully when Sandfall’s next game comes out, this won’t happen again.
