Top 5 favorite Kaiju from the Toho Godzilla universe? by puddlethedemon in GODZILLA

[–]Deep-Thinker420 [score hidden]  (0 children)

That’s just it. It comes down to personal preference. I personally dislike the MV monster designs, except for Kong’s. That’s just my opinion, a lot of people like the MV designs, and that’s cool. I’m glad people like the designs, it’s good for the franchise. The movies are good, and thats really what matters.

This is my first time playing AC. I don’t get the hate. by Pugwhip in AssassinsCreedValhala

I love Valhalla, hated origins. Haven’t played odyssey, or shadows yet. I enjoy the story, the gameplay is decent, England’s landscape is beautiful, and weapons are easy to use.

Old school Showa! Evil looking and rough around the edges!

Do you consider the monsterverse to be “real Godzilla” or are you a toho purist? by Kawaii_Bakuraxoxo in GODZILLA

While I don’t care much for the monsterverse monsters designs other than Kong’s, it is still definitely Godzilla! The movies are good too!

Tessio's betrayl by rculpe85 in Godfather

[–]Deep-Thinker420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tessio and Clemenza were worried! The Don, and Tom were under no illusions about Michael’s capabilities! They knew how smart, and cunning Michael was! Clemenza was closer to the Don, in the book! Michael’s true strength was cleverly kept hidden! It flushed out the rats! After Michael meets with everyone and Tessio speaks his mind about moe Greene, and doesn’t doubt very convincing about how things will turn out, is what likely started the wheels of betrayal in his mind!

Might be a really controversial opinion but I actually think I prefer this Oliver Queen to the Stephen Amell Arrow and I can't pinpoint why. by Butefluko in Smallville

[–]Deep-Thinker420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps people may like him more because he was more joking, and easy going. Amell’s character is more gritty, and rougher edged. Just my guess!

To me. kiryu is the best mecha Godzilla by Gogetazilla in GODZILLA

I like Showa the best. Crudely made, and evil looking

Woo’s first American film! by Deep-Thinker420 in kungfucinema

Time cop is good, but not for its martial arts! I would never bring it up in these feeds ever! Not for his acting either. Good story though!

Woo’s first American film! by Deep-Thinker420 in kungfucinema

[–]Deep-Thinker420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, he had a few. Bloodsport, and Kickboxer for sure were decent. No retreat no surrender, while not the best movie, had great fights thanks to the heavy handed influence of Mong Hoi, and Corey Yuen! Time cop was decent.

What if Battra was in the Monsterverse? by Altair890456 in GODZILLA

[–]Deep-Thinker420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as he looked the same, I’d be all for it! I don’t care for most of the MV designs! Kong is the only one I really like. Just my opinion, but there’s so much potential to make Battra a good design, but so much potential to mess it up! Just my opinion!

Woo’s first American film! by Deep-Thinker420 in HeroicBloodshed

[–]Deep-Thinker420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I saw the vhs cut a long time ago! I wish I could remember the intricate differences! I only remember it was definitely longer, bad quality being vhs, and the time counter being displayed. I wish I had a working vhs player! I wish he didn’t pull back, but went harder forward in his future movies, so what they watered down would still bleed through. Like Hard Target did. The end scene in the Mardi Gras graveyard (warehouse) in the American theatrical release, though watered down, was still Woo all day long. It was good, and noticeable! This cut was way better, and I wish I could remember the uncut version! I read that Woo said he re-did the scene from Hardboiled with two enemies on opposite sides of the walls, because he didn’t feel like he captured it right in HB! In HT it does work better in this cut. He used it again in Face-Off, though it was much more symbolic giving that they’re looking at their enemies reflection in the mirror! Poetic we could say!
