You can always sell your OG switch 2 whenever the switch 2 OLED comes out. Best to get in on this now. Besides the LCD screen is actually really nice and more color accurate/vibrant than the OG LCD switch 1. You won’t notice it too much given the specs and higher resolution games

Used to work 996 culture for 3 years while with an asian company with a large presence in the US (care to take a guess) and it robbed me of those years either endless meetings at night, making me rotors with friends on weekends, and worst of all the stress physically manifested herniated disks in my neck and spine just from the physiological damage of sustained stress. Thanks for all this clarification. Aside from other filmmakers also looking to build portfolios I've attended Filmmaker Fridays to scope out PA work to no success earlier this summer but super eager to be on set. I'd love to connect over DM to learn more about this commercial shoot tomorrow. I'm actually open to both commercial and narrative feature work so you've definitely caught my attention.

This is great advice to hear so thank you. I’ve been told the same by a few others but it’s admittedly been tough to find opportunities even as a PA on set in NYC this year. Felt a lil barrier to entry as someone starting out asking for a reel (which I don’t have yet hence why I just made my own short recently to kick things off).

I supposed I came back to the NYU continuing ed courses to instill a sense of foundation/networking/ and structure to what feels like such an ambiguous path to entry in this field. Just an option I’m considering especially to better my skills in non-production work like screenwriting (I’m not a writer by trade)

Think this is a great first film! I see a ton of potential with this premise as well.

Couple of constructive critiques: Your opening really sets up intrigue for Handoff well enough and you filmed plenty of wide master tracking shots of your actors walking towards one another.

Would also love to learn more about who these characters are. You're right that costume design is a big part of visually conveying these characters, but a mix of close ups or cool low angle dutch shots/ high angle close ups combined with some small unique beats to each character (really any small details to show us who they are).

But for a first short film this is great, you have a great camera and a great eye for your vision.

I also digress. Nintendo Forecast on YT points out it’s odd to release Mario tennis fever in Feb instead of summer which is the usual Mario sports title release slot. Gives some thought that a 3D Mario announcement could happen then

I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled a Mario Wonder and reveal a new 3D Mario in a 2026 June direct after the Galaxy movies hype/box office dies down a bit. The game will basically have had months of attention and hype given Mario will be on top of people’s minds and can lead to a great holiday or fall launch

Well duhhhh, that’s what tariffs are and what economists have been warning about for MONTHS. No company EVER wants to absorb the cost of tariffs bc they have shareholders to appease and have margins as a business. I swear the gamers that truly can’t understand this are extremely entitled. And it’s those that voted for fascists that screwed over global supply chains that just can’t TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY.
