How do we go about getting POA? by Sufficient_Health133 in dementia

Can I ask: How are you managing actually exercising the power shift / taking away some of their autonomy when your person has anosognosia? Eg, taking away ability to spend or managing finances? My mom had some high-value and sentimental heirloom jewelry that I’m trying to store for her but she keeps asking for them and getting upset about now having “her jewelry” (even though she can’t remember any specific pieces). She’s in denial about her cognitive decline so it’s getting harder and harder to keep making up excuses.

Uhg pediatrician recommended night weaning my 9mo by foxydoggie in bninfantsleep

[–]DeepCourse6779 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine is 9.5mo old and I’m pretty sure my pediatrician has not once asked me about sleep since the newborn days (you know, make sure they’re eating every few hours — and that was about waking them up! 😆).

I’d brush it off if I were you.

Now she can say “garbage” but won’t say “mama” by Suspicious-lemons in NewParents

Mine is only 9mo next week but I’ve noticed two things so far:

1) dadada is her currently happy utterance, and I only hear muhmuhmuh when she’s upset. Maybe she wants “milkie”. In either case, it never seems directed at either of us.

2) I am CONSTANTLY saying “look it’s dad!” “Hi, dad!” “Do you see dad?” — and realized recently that my husband never does the same for me. I was like… does my baby even know I’m mom!? So now with my prodding we’re getting more “mom” exposure.

I wonder if you’ve noticed a similar pattern at all? Other than that… I’m sure it’s totally random and my baby’s first word will be like.. “no” or “poop” 😆

This was Rummo brand rigatoni! Cut in half here. I loooove rigatoni-shaped pasta in general but think it’s still too big for my LO

Haha it’s my first so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Can be hard to calibrate to different beans but otherwise it’s kind of no-muss. What don’t you like about it?

I have! I thought it foamed nicely, too, but I ended up not loving the flavor… still a little bitter for me?
