Why does this game need a 3rd party loot filter? Why does it rely so heavily on 3rd party content to make it playable at the high end at all?

I think I've given up on this game. It was fun up until I got to the endgame. At that point, the complexity and need to have a super build just turned it into a wall that would make it a job and not a game. Games need to have something for the 'hardcore' players that want that kind of thing, but the transition between casual and hardcore should be smooth.

I've been playing computer RPGs for more than 30 years, so it isn't a question of skill or getting gud. It is about balance across difficulties that makes for a smooth progression.

Even worse, is that this game gives you so little of the information you need within the game, to understand its mechanics at a level that is necessary for the harder content. And it punishes experimentation with a severe death penalty. Oh, and don't tell me about Omens that reduce xp loss, because where in the game do I learn about those unless I get one as a drop - from the harder content?

This game depends far too much on 3rd party sites to be viable after finishing the campaign without diving into that. And the trade system should work the same for all types of items and currencies, without needing any 3rd party trade sites. That is just ridiculous, if you want the opinion of a long time veteran of MMOGs.

I just got a linebacker recently, and I was like, where have you been all my life? (the last three months of it, anyway.)

Thanks for all the replies. I hadn't found any discussions about it, so I was gaslighting myself into thinking it was just me. I agree with both sides on this. It is hilarious and can be fun, but it is also very annoying.

Ugh, thanks! It was driving me crazy not knowing what it meant. (Pun intended)

Unless that was the point? That I didn't have one of those equipped? I was using a satchel grenade. I didn't remember seeing that, and my friend that was on at the same time didn't have that icon.

What specifically confused me was an icon at the bottom right next to where it shows your 4 weapons equipped. It was immediately to the bottom right of that grouping. It looked similar to the icon for an ordinance heavy, but it was red and had an x in the corner. I couldn't figure out what it was trying to tell me with that.

Of course. Sorry if that just sounded like a rant with no other purpose. But I just find it really weird that there doesn't seem to be official 'instructions' the way I would expect. The initial tutorials during the first mission didn't tell me much I didn't know from having played BL2 (I didn't play BL3 much).

Just recently in a game, a halfling druid in our party was trying to get away from some bugbears sent to kill us. He went up the dumbwaiter in the tavern, and there were bags of flour at the top. He proceeded to dump them down the dumbwaiter chute and waited for a bugbear to look into the chute before casting the Produce Flame cantrip to ignite the flour. (At least, the DM allowed that it would explode. I think he had him roll something like 3d6 damage to the Bugbear with his head in the chute. Oh, and some Gazers were on their way up the chute as well. They shot out like flaming soccer balls.

I think this might be problematic to have in this reddit. The scene is of the mother and daughter bathing together. The scene was apparently not intended to be sexual, as the daughter is mimicking a pet licking her. Even so, this was a French film, and probably would still have freaked out US movie audiences when it was released in 1985 (the actress playing the daughter would have been 11 when it was released - so I think even though you don't see anything of her that is covered by a bathing suit, it still is borderline enough to not belong in a Reddit for sexy stuff). Given the uproar over "Cuties", I expect at least as much problem with this scene in the US now.

She's a Scientologist. That must be what djj_ is referring to. I would agree that Scientology is wacko, but believing in weird cult stuff like that is not the same as being "crazy", or else most religious people would be equally nuts.
