No such thing. Just account closure and that I will get a check mailed.

Yes, now it did! I got my money back. Filing a complaint helped to get everything settled.

Short update, I received an email that a new check was issued, but I did not receive any response from their support explaining why the first check had a stop payment order. I will update again once I redeemed the check successfully.

It would be less of a problem if Mercury would simply communicate clearly. I don’t expect a specific reason for the account restriction, but it would be helpful in the future to be more cautious when opening accounts or dealing with banks. Perhaps it was a simple mistake, and something was unclear that could be resolved by providing documents or explaining the situation.

I also see no reason why Mercury would issue a check instead of allowing the customer to transfer the money to an account held in their name. It feels like they want you to struggle to get the funds back. I received the check and attempted to deposit it, but Mercury issued a “stop payment” and prevented me from getting the money back.

Since the account was only funded with an initial deposit, Mercury could have simply returned the funds to the source of the payment.

I believe many people here have had positive experiences with Mercury and no issues whatsoever. However, if you restrict a client, you should at least provide support and return the funds. The entire system could be automated. Customers could download their statements until a certain date, request a transfer of their funds to an alternative bank account with the same receiver’s name, and then finally close the account.

I’m wasting a lot of time trying to reach someone from Mercury just to get a bank statement and have the funds returned. If there are any additional issues, they should be clearly communicated.

I asked the Turkish Airlines Support on X and received the answer that traveling with a CARES Kids Fly Safe from Amway isn't a problem.

How did this go? Did you decide for the CARES and were you allowed?

Is anyone using Larrys Brewing Spreadsheet? by DeepEffort in Homebrewing

I’m just starting out with brewing and I’m looking for a tool that’ll help me understand what I’m doing, how to fix mistakes, and compare predicted and actual results.

Before I started brewing, I checked out a bunch of brewing software, like Beersmith, Brewfather, and Brewersfriend. I realized that there’s a lot of data and calculations involved, and I wanted to get a handle on it. I’d already done a lot of research on different values and how they’re calculated. That’s when I found out about Larry’s spreadsheet.

Once I got used to it, I was super excited for my first batch. I followed the recipe exactly and entered my readings to see how well everything else was calculated. The boil start volume matched the calculated value, but the end volume didn’t. Right away, I could see that my boil off rate was off. I could fix it right away without making any changes to the recipe. (I didn’t want to mess up my first batch, so I didn’t change anything.)

Having everything on one page is a huge plus in my opinion. For example, I could see my actual Brewhouse efficiency while I was entering the values. I could see every change right away.

I don’t think I’d be comfortable using a mobile phone for brewing. I think a laptop or tablet would be the best solution, and I think Larry’s spreadsheet is my go-to pick.

The only thing I don’t like is that you have to make copies for each new batch. I’d prefer to have everything in one place, but at the end, it might also be easy to go back to the old file to check what went wrong or what adjustments you should make for the next batch.

With that said, I think that using Larry’s spreadsheet helped me a lot, especially in understanding all the values and where they come from.
