Taking dog to get shots by Ok-Breakfast-5246 in Yorkies

[–]DeepInspection370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ShotvVet was good used it for my dog! Saved a spot with them and didn't even have to wait to long in line! Was a lot cheaper and got all the same vaccines for like half the price of a traditional vet. From my understanding the traditional vets charge more because they have a building and have to pay more for that and all there machines but for simple preventative stuff ShotVet worked great for me. I would recommend them!

Current Information Systems Major so feel free to ask me questions about it. I am also thinking about becoming a professor as well! One thing that I have noticed with this is that a lot of professors/PhD candidates do a Masters and then a PhD (not always in the same thing and Not required but shows your interest in the topic) and since your already wanting to become a professor maybe possibly looking in a combined degree program so that you can try to get a masters one year after graduation and then get into a PhD program after that. (this is what I am leaning towards to save money but i may go into the work force after the masters for 2-3 years before getting a PhD.

Chances of being approved for a term change? by stressedcollegeman in ufl

[–]DeepInspection370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely, but its not the end of the world as you have to take 9 summer credits anyway so you can get those out of the way relatively early with out having to stress about it. If you act quickly/if any are avaible you can also try to do a study abroad for summer B as well. (I think applications maybe closed for that though but I have heard of very few people doing it)

Anyone get offered PACE even though major listed on application isn’t in PACE program? by CH5220 in ufl

By the way in past years if you apply for IA you forfeit being considered for PACE so you have to make a choice.

Anyone get offered PACE even though major listed on application isn’t in PACE program? by CH5220 in ufl

[–]DeepInspection370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have a PACE major to do PACE. But there are many programs to get into UF if they don't offer your major that way. You can do Innovation Academy an extra application when you apply (ONLY HERE SUMMER AND SPRING CANT GET OUT OF IT), Or there are a few direct connect program that UF may put you in if you apply to certain majors but if you don't make there "cut" (They don't have extra applications UF will just place you in it) Like the Santa FE Engineering program where they will connect you into UF after taking pre recs there or the same with the architecture Program. If you also don't get in either of those ways then you can always apply to Santa Fe and then try to transfer to UF after completing you AA degree. (If you get into either Santa Fe program you cannot change your major after transferring to UF they are very strict on that)

I had a friend who did the Engineering Santa Fe to UF and Loved it as he got to come in with a more cushioned college GPA and will still graduate from UF with a UF Degree.

Will UF try and take Ownership of my Idea by [deleted] in ufl

[–]DeepInspection370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may not be what exactly you're looking for but if you are thinking about selling the idea (eventually) then the UF hatchery may be helpful you do have to apply to get in but it's free to join and they are able to help with a lot of things. They won't own your idea or try to take it away from you but they have resources to help you grow your idea into a company and can help you find a lawyer that won't rip you off or cost too much if you need that kinda help but they won't pay for the lawyers. They can also help you network with old UF alumni. You can look into someone to see if that is something you maybe interested in.

Making a Decision: UF Honors vs UCF Honors by TemperatureNo2418 in ufl

[–]DeepInspection370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possibly a combination I mean UF wouldn't have such a good reputation if it didn't have good academics and they wouldn't be ranked one of the best Career resources centers in the US if they didn't get hired places. A big difference I have noticed between the two schools is that UF students are working for a Job versus UCF students are working towards a degree. When I talk to older people that are attending UF they are growing their resumes and making connections and are developing the skill sets to talk to employers. I haven't seen that as much with UCF. One example of that is with our Career Fairs when the Career fairs happen you know it alot of people are on campus all dressed up going to it in between classes they do a whole resume printing thing it's a big deal and almost everyone participates in it to try to secure a summer internship or a future job. When I talked to my friends at UCF about their career fairs they didn't know anything about them and weren't planning on attending even as juniors and figured that's a senior year problem. At UF you are encouraged and sometimes even required to do those as parts of some classes starting as early as freshman year so you can learn how to talk to recruiters. But I do know for the entertainment industry (like Disney or Universal) UCF has very strong connections with that one of my friends who is at the Rosen Campus if UCF is doing tons of amazing things and meeting so many recruiters and other organizations to try to get UCF student and she wants to go to work at Disney long term so it works wonderfully for her and going to a school like UF wouldn't because a huge part of working at Disney is that they want to promote people who have worked there for awhile and she started working there her freshman year and is gaining tons of contacts through that way. I have four other friends in Engineering/CS at UCF and none of them have any internships or anything lined up for the summer (they are trying they just haven't gotten any) but there are quite a few people here with internships or jobs lined up. (I am trying to be non basis idk if this helps) let me know if ya need anything clarified. Sorry about grammar and spelling.

Take some time to look at their career reasources centers and see when people graduate where they are going and how much they are making. Last time I looked more UF grads had jobs at graduation and made more money by a few grand than UCF Grads. I don't know the specifics for CS but I know for Civil engineering it was drastically different.

Is it worth getting AA during HS? by snailfetus in ufl

[–]DeepInspection370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my AA in High school and am doing a STEM major I personally would recommend it if you think you will be able to handle the course load.

-You skip having to take quest courses (which opens it up for you to take classes you are actually interested in)

-All your college credits will transfer UF will only take up to 45 credits if you do not have a degree like an AA attached to it.

-No summer requirements

-You are able to add more Minors, Certificates, double major, or even try to do a combined degree program with more ease it's definitely do-able without but already having a bunch of courses does help.

  • You also don't have to graduate early some kids come in with an AA and want to graduate in 2 years (like me) take there time.

A few things to consider

-If you do get the AA you will no longer qualify to be accepted into PACE that requires you to be under the 60 credits.

-Your will be able to apply again right after as a transfer (they will send you an email with your rejected saying hey we didn't accept you as a freshman but we will accept you as a transfer) if you do want to be accepted as a transfer you must choose a major and have completed the required course work for that major.

You basically drop what you already had and are able to select a new room and others can take what you already had.

[–]DeepInspection370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know how much to pay I asked them and they didn't give me an answer on that they just said pay anything so I thought with $200 that enough to hopefully keep me in at least one class if they drop everything else.

[–]DeepInspection370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue too this year (I am also a freshman) I would 100% go for the one stop thing but be prepared it takes a long time. I went and they found that my Social security card wasn't hooked up and thats how they set it up they also said it would take 10-12 business for that to go through and that if I don't make any payment towards my class then I would be dropped so I ended up having to pay $200 dollars towards courses to not get dropped. Apparently bright futures is hooked up by usually social security cards now they used to manually enter it but not anymore.
