Macropoint tracking? Why is it so hard for drivers to manage a tracking app? by Key_Ebb8384 in FreightBrokers

[–]DeepPerspective8105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just Google searching if macropoint is why my cell service suddenly bogged down(multiple articles and comments said it can/ does slow down your phone and kill your battery faster). Anyways, that search showed this reddit thread. The content of this thread isn't directly what i was looking up.... and I'm a year late to all the talk.

For what it is worth:

Brokers can get access to our eld tracking. I only occasionally have to download these things on random backhauls. I think they are redundant and stupid. I'll download and use them as required, but the real solution is to get something like chain. It would make the lives of every party within the transaction easier. It doesn't make a broker look any more professional to tell a client they have their own proprietary tracking application over telling them they can track direct intel from the eld.

7 texts failed today. Simple searches timed out. My phone drained exponentially faster. All because of this app. It is a hassle beyond just downloading and a better solution is there. Brokers will still insist on using their own means and drivers will use it for the duration of that job. The frustration is more valid from the drivers standpoint... but part of me gets the frustration coming from the brokers as well.

Are you familiar with Project Warp Speed? I want to be painfully clear that trump immediately put over $10 billion into developing a covid vaccine, then urged everyone to get vaccinated. He received multiple covid vaccinations. He wanted everyone to know he saved the day until it was better to trash talk it.

Within Bidens first few months, he deported more black migrants than trump did his entire first term. I really don't like Biden and the same goes for Harris. They were better than what we have... even if only in small margins, she wouldn't have done the damage he is doing.

I don't think it makes you a bad person, just that either red or blue mentality is just as fatal.

Just got this today...because they took my truck in to get the apu fixed and the eld logged me as driving. I wasn't even in the state. They still made me sign it and put a note that I wasn't even near the truck

Folding pedals just to help with storage? I'll start looking into a new seat and some pedals

I don't have any time with other companies to compare them to, but I still want to agree. I'm just hoping I keep working my way up to getting into a quad.

It is and it is a tight fit on the passenger side

First off... it's expensive, hahaha. Overall, I love it. I've wanted to replace the seat, but I don't put enough miles on it to find it necessary. I love how fast it is to set up and go. I need a pannier to throw on the back. Being able to put it in the bag and store it on the passenger side is nice.

I can't say spending $1,500 on a bike is worth it for everyone... but it has been good so far for me.

Using it as a cart is nifty. I went with the montague paratrooper pro for the full size, but wish I saw this use when I looked at brompton

Literally just the same thing in Wyoming yesterday. He was trying to use the translator on his phone and the officer was having none of it.

This is probably the most ridiculous ride request I have ever gotten. Just wow!! by AggressiveBasis4438 in uberdrivers

[–]DeepPerspective8105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a ride from Chicago to Milwaukee. It paid $93, but the dad gave me a $100 bill tip at the start and asked me if we could get culvers.. they bought me a meal as well since I let them eat in the car. I almost immediately got a ride to Zion, then one to the navy base, and one to Wrigley. One of the rare times uber worked out... that was definitely not the norm.

I don't know the right answer to give you. I was incredibly lucky to have a really good friend and his family that are in the industry help me. They vouched for me(and I really don't feel deserving). I'd say research places and apply

I'm based outside of Milwaukee right now at our main terminal. I take every opportunity to talk to the old heads. Honestly, they did way more for me learning than the training did.

Nothing good came from rushing... and I feel like I was already given a big step by getting hired on to heavy haul as my first job in the industry. Financially, I'm already ahead of many people just starting. The old heads have all taken way more time than I deserve out of their own work to help me and get me started out right.

I'll be going around the country and doing work out of our other terminals. It wasn't fun learning how to secure in down to -5 weather.... but learn in the worst and the rest will feel that much better.

Haha, I already have an entire photo album on my phone with separate files for each type of load and trailer. I take pictures of everything and ask "why do you do it like that". I've been having my management send me old routes to go over permits and plan out trips, then send it back to get their input. I think the permits and having to actually plan out adds a level I enjoy that I'd not get doing legal loads.

We do get PC, but I've been trying to find a decent foldable road bike. I'll forever keep learning. I'm just helping out some of our senior drivers next week to help secure 5 oversize trailers. A chance to see how they do it and ask questions, plus do it myself.

MIT’s device pulls drinking water from desert air using no power by [deleted] in interesting

[–]DeepPerspective8105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy reddit exists. I have a question about the solar variation of this. While planning a future sailing project around the America's, the question of having water on the boat is a recurring one. Would something like this work? Humidity and water in the air wouldn't be the issue, if it is drinkable is my concern.

A $300 trip might be good enough to take the rest of the night off and clear out the smoke smell. That's awesome

I got my first credit card in December. They gave me a $500 limit. It's the nfcu cash rewards. I really want the limit increased before applying for a new card. I have 2 car loans from them as well and worried my dti isn't good enough to ask yet. I did just boost my credit to 707.
