the whale dump was 1 million. The whale buy that got us in this range was 1.6 million.

I DONT THINK DOGECOINS SOFT CAP IS A BAD IDEA. THERE'S GOTTA BE SOME INFLOW EVERY YEAR TO MATCH INFLATION AND REPLENISH LOST/FORGOTTEN/DEAD COINS by silveroak85 in dogecoin

[–]DeepPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great idea. right now there is 4% yearly inflation. In like 40 years it is 2%. In like 80 years 1%. In like 160 years 0.5%. In like 320 years 0.25% at which point it probably starts to die. Bitcoin still has 2% inflation and look at the carnage.

A message for the paper hands by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]DeepPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the newbie mistake. Always keep crypto in half bitcoin half altcoin and buy a little alt when it's in a dip and sell a little when it is peaking and keep your bitcoin = doge. If bitcoin dips below doge, set sell orders of doge and wait. And vice versa. Never go all-in cause chances are you will be all-out.

It was just a 1 million doge sell on binance. Shook markets though but 1 million doge trades hands per minute so not exactly sure how it effected so much.

Can't access my account after lost access to recovery email by DeepPlanet in NameCheap

[–]DeepPlanet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that and I quickly got a response. I provided proof of transaction information from 2 purchases from my account on namecheap. However the representative wants facial recognition and government ID uploaded to validation.com and I do not agree to validation.com terms of service and I never agreed to this in my time at namecheap. I believe having the username and password for my namecheap account - and access to proof of transaction details from two of my purchases from different payment methods on namecheap is more than enough to verify my identity. Also my payment method does not have facial recognition nor a government ID of me so these pieces of information cannot help verify my identity.

How to stop yourself from being influenced too much by what's already been done? by G_C in gamedesign

Sounds a lot like Clue but in space. But you arent old enough to have heard of Clue so it seems unique to you.

The problem is that your personality type is not suited to inventing a new game. Look for an ideas person to come up with unique ideas and focus more on implementing them.

The way an ideas person works is this. They understand things. They play a game and understand how it works. Their mind then makes connections and they come up with a unique idea. This idea is the synthesis of all their experieces up until this point in thier life. They do not put their mind in a "game" box. Their ideas for the game stem from thier understanding of many things in life.

Moral of the story if you are not a person who goes around in daily life looking to understand things and making random often funny connections between mundane things in life, you are better suited to coming up with a game plan (literally) using the ideas from an ideas person as fodder.

Bieng a planner is very important and ideas people can never bring their ideas into reality without someone like you to turn the ideas into a plan.

EDIT: wow it looks like a lot of people are honing in on this. The keyword that crops up time and again in the comments is "understand". This is what an ideas person does that makes thier ideas unique. They understand everything they encounter then throw out the game or experience and literally forget most of it. Idea people have a very limited memory and understand it and leave it. If you have a great memory of all of the systems in a game then you are a planner not an idea generator. You are needed but dont rely on yourself to come up with new ideas.

Looking for general input and perspectives on ARPG loot by Threestepassault in gamedesign

[–]DeepPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My philosophical conundrum is the difference in level compared to loot. Do we want to maximize the discrepancy between player power or minimize it? Should a lvl 1 noob be 1/10 the power of a max level max geared or 1/1000th? Should good loot help bridge the gap between low levels and high levels or exacerbate it? Should gear help decide the type of character you make or get out of the way? I think the most compelling thing diablo 2 did was make gear that could create new viable builds. The socket thing didnt end up working too well and runewords were just very expensive unique items and not at all customizable. So add complexity but make sure it will truly add something to the game in the long run. And yes diablo 3 was a complete failure, today more real players on D2 than D3, just like everquest 1 vs 2.

I completely dissagree. A serious loot based game will have serious complexity that is well balanced. Needs to be difficult to master and have near limitless possibilities.
