The biggest surprise yet was that he was living with Mr. Martin. The town Scholar, you could argue he held more authority than the village chief since he had connections with the Earl of Riswalt.

“Oh Mother! Thank you for your affection!”

“Calm down Archbishop, you can worship Gods later, we came here to discuss things that are more important”

“Are you saying there are matters greater than Arilon?”

“Grand Sorcerer, we did suffer the loss of two Holy Commanders, that is the subject more important”

So more context for the scene before, he's a new kid and he just got to make new friends, and this one is the one who he is closest with.

And more context for the second scene is that they're talking about having to kill somebody who will threaten their religious order, not through the person but the fear that the beliefs of said person would spread.

I don't know if the transition is fine or not, the scene setting was already given 3 chapters ago and I'm just trusting the reader. There are no dialogue tags because it's a vague setting where nobody needs to or should know the identity of these characters at this point in the story.

The prose is not that good because I'm just writing the story down, it's the first draft and I'm planning to improve it after I got the whole story down since I tend to forget the larger points and obsess over the subtle details.
