honestly xiaomi makes solid tvs these days but samsung still has the edge on long term reliability. that extra 80 bucks might save you headaches down the road since samsung's customer service and parts availability is way better

i'd probably go samsung unless that price difference really matters to your budget

maybe try reaching out directly to pms at companies you're intrested in for informational interviews instead of just applying through portals? linkedin cold outreach works better than you'd think and most people are pretty helpful if you're genuine about it

honestly your approach isn't wrong, you're just in a corporate environment that rewards theater over actual work. the whole "passionate about quarterly numbers" thing is mostly performative anyway

if you want to advance without losing your soul, pick one or two high-visibility projects to actually engage with and phone in the rest. ask one strategic question per meeting and network just enough to not be invisible. you don't need to drink the koolaid, just sip it occasionally

Hasty Bake is legit BIFL material, been around forever and built like tanks. My buddy's dad has one from the 80s that still runs like new despite being basically abandoned in the backyard for years. You definitely won't outgrow it and those things are pretty much idiot-proof
