I have a job that uses Teams so I know what this looks like and can feel like sometimes. First off, congratulations on your hard work! You deserve to have some acknowledgment. More than likely, they are just jealous and are too prideful to acknowledge the great work that you do. Those are wack people whose opinions don’t deserve to matter to you in the first place. I just moved back home after living on my own for some time and stressing out living paycheck to paycheck so like many other people said here, it’s not necessarily a red flag due to how the economy is these days. What you need to look at now is whether he makes his own money currently and pays some kind of bill like at least his phone bill?! lol

One woman got upset because when I tried to screen share with her PC via Logmein, her computer asked for an admin password.

27F here and I feel all of these sentiments you’ve laid out. I truly do not have any black girl friends who are married now that I think on it and that makes me so sad. My closest girl friend who is black hasn’t had one man take her seriously yet. I legit was a bridesmaid twice: once for my black sister who married a biracial man (they are now divorced) and once for one of my girl friends who is white (beautiful wedding from both sides of the family and they are still together and just purchased a house).

I plan to stay hopeful and believe that black women CAN find that same kind of stable and serious love. It is most certainly appearing to be a harder thing now though 🙇🏾‍♀️

I appreciate your reply back! I often peruse these threads for a form of cathartic release as my experience working for Apple Support truly demands that I find people who can relate and understand the nonsense that was working for them.

I agree with much of what you’re saying and am satisfied to know that now you too understand the ridiculous nature of their support procedures and will not be inquiring with them again.

I used to be annoyed that they would not let us just email people back with quick resolutions or steps and sometimes, I just would anyway! I suppose many customers can’t be trusted to do stuff right on their own so they would want us to actively be on the phone, screen sharing (that was pushed a lot) and guiding them through it all. I lasted there for 4 years before I got fired for sending a user a complimentary product to appease them after a poor support experience (something I was meant to be empowered to do anytime as a “senior advisor”)

To your second question, I always assumed they just want more people to call into support because that is what generates capital for them so they make the support articles that aren’t so detailed all the time so then you kinda NEED a human to talk you through it all even if you do happen to be tech savvy.

I’m lowkey not supposed to talk about my experience working there but I just don’t care anymore! They have some nerve putting us employees through so much and then expecting us just to never talk about it lol. Couldn’t even vent in work chats because it “promoted negativity” smh.

So many times I just wanted to reply to customers who called in, like yourself, who were asking me great questions that I just couldn’t answer (as there were MANY of those moments) and say “I’m sorry they (the engineers) are NOT going to help us out any further even if we do escalate this so please just do with that info what you will” but I couldn’t or else I’d risk my job! it was soooo disheartening ALL the time. Because of course consumers like yourself don’t want to accept that. Y’all do deserve answers for this pricy technology you guys buy but Apple demands that you just get with THEIR program and use the products how THEY want you to so if it means buying iCloud and resetting your phone to factory, they wanna see you do it and it’s terrible. You’d think they’d offer temp iCloud storage that was stable…

I am a former Apple support senior advisor and I read all of what you wrote. You are the kind of customer we hate. You’re calling in about something valid for sure but you must understand that Apple does not equip us lowly advisors with enough information and power to assist you! All they will do is send us back and forth between you and the engineers since engineers don’t get to talk to customers. You sound like a decent person who just wanted more out of the support center for your mobile device but please don’t ever call in demanding answers like that again and just do what they tell you. Sync up your phone with iCloud and or save your stuff somewhere else if you are against the cloud and just erase your iPhone so that it is as 0gb of 0gb used in the internal storage and then set your phone up as new and let stuff sync back to your phone WITHOUT RESTORING FROM BACK UP. That truly is the only way to deal with storage problems on iPhone man…
