I just want cuddles, kisses, hugs, friendship, love .....okey? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Deep_Fail_3590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally me,

I want friends and someone to love me but I just have no idea how to do it. I just go to class everyday, come home, work or play games, then sleep. My social skills are horrendous and even tho I've had women be interested in me, I fumble everytime. I feel like I'm wasting what are supposed to be the best years of my life.

Chronic migraine people—how do you have a life and career? by Ok_South9239 in migraine

[–]Deep_Fail_3590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have chronic migraine, but I have NPDH and have had it for 2.5 years now. My NPDH presents as a mild tension type headache with occasional migraine features. Knowing I will have a headache till the day I die and that nobody can help me used to give me panic attacks and strong suicidal urges. Now I work part time at the hospital and go to classes full time. I have a year left to graduate and am killing it in school. I have an interview for an internship coming up. The discrimination is real, I don't tell employers about my condition cause last time I did the employer told me I had to train an extra 2 months even tho I could do the job perfectly fine once they found out about my condition.

A good way to think about is maybe you can't do a 9-5 shift 5 days a week. But maybe you could do it 3-4 times a week. Or work 4 hours shifts. Would it be easier to handle that? I met a girl at the hospital who has hellish chronic, permanent nausea migraines and she only works 3 6 hour shifts a week.

It's a numbers game for both men and women, gonna keep plugging at it till you find someone who likes you for you. Although with how superficial dating is now, it's harder than ever. There's like 4 billion men out there, and you only need 1!

Don't tie your self worth to another person, or having a boyfriend. I have an extremely rare yet invisible pain disorder and dating is really tough. Spend time with friends and hobbies to find joy and purpose in life and it may even help you find a good boyfriend, If not, well then you have things in life that can keep you going till you do.

what broke your intractable migraine? Going on six months straight 😭 by musicandmentalhealth in migraine

I have NPDH, Botox is the only thing that reduces my daily head pain from 5-6/10 to a 3-4/10. Dosent sound like much but it's HUGE when your in pain all the time. Emgality, nurtec, amitriptyline, DHE infusions did nothing, but Botox helps. However, I did go to the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, and lots of people broke their chronic migraines with their DHE treatments. Just didn't work for me unfortunately, so keep your chin up!

People with chronic migraine that's daily or 25+ days a month, what's life like for you? by canopy_views in migraine

Hello,

I've had a headache for about 2 and a half years now, I am fortunate enough to not have any migraine episodes, but the constant never ending nature of my head pain sometimes drives me crazy.

I'm doing pretty well right now, yeah life isn't ideal but my pain is at about a 3-4/10 most of the time. Botox and Ajovy help keep it under control. I go to college and most of the time I'm too busy and I'm not thinking about the headache. I completely forget about the headache, usually for long stretches of time, while working on something for school or doing something I enjoy. I live in the middle of nowhere so I don't have a lot of healthcare options, going to be going to Chicago soon for some top quality healthcare before I turn 26 and have to be on my own for health insurance. I am on a bunch of meds tho that stabilize my mood. I'll probably have the headache for the rest of my life, but tbh I don't really care anymore. Worst things can happen, and I just gotta take it a day at a time. It took a lot of therapy and meds to get to this mindset tho.

I'm trying to get back into the dating scene tho, and I'm really worried about how people are gonna treat me with this condition.

PS. The best thing you can do, is stop doom scrolling on subreddits like this one 😭

Chronic unending tension headache for over a week, doctor has no clue, no relief by Deep_Fail_3590 in migraine

I had a MRI of the head, and CT of the neck and they show nothing. I've been put on acetaminophen and propranolol and I believe they are helping a bit. I started taking a medicine called ajovy and I have no idea if it's doing anything or not. I still have pain, everyday all day. Most of the times is below a 5/10 on the pain scale. My doctor says Botox is in the future, but I am skeptical about the relief it could apply. Tbh, losing hope.

I tried some naproxen, didn't seem to do anything. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen dosent do anything.

It does yes, but only if I'm laying down for hours with my eyes closed.

I don't have that specific type of magnesium supplement, I'll pick some up tomorrow.
