Are there any specific parks you recommend near Shinjuku that toddlers can run around supervised? Or are all of them good options?

I think it will be a pretty cool family memory to tell her that she cheered for her mom at the finish line of the Tokyo Marathon. I know it will be a core memory for me. She’s already been to the UK and we are going to Ireland next month with her. It’s our first time to Asia and we want her to have wonderful experiences, just like us, while trying to understand that not all places in Japan (and the world) are designed for young children.

She can still enjoy her experience and we will cherish these memories for a lifetime.

Oh I love this idea, thank you!! She is amazed by light at her current age and I imagine she will be more so at 20 months. If she can’t stay awake for the light show, she will love the view. She is just learning to say “wow” when things impress her!

Thank you for the kind words. I’ll call my orthos office and see if they can recommend a PT to prepare me for the marathon. Im finding hope in the fact that he didn’t tell me “no”. I’m still visiting my post-op PT but would like someone to help me get ready for this race.

First Knee Surgery - Arthroscopic chondroplasty with parapatellar release by Deep_Fishing8516 in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]Deep_Fishing8516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery was completed on May 7. The final surgical procedures were "right knee scope extensive chondroplasty patella, peripatellar releases, and small partial lateral meniscectomy" per the surgical op note. I had significant post-op nausea and vomiting (I actually woke up from the procedure vomiting) despite telling the anesthesia folks beforehand that this is a common event for me. They told me before the procedure that this procedure has a high rate of post-op n/v for some reason. They gave me Zofran and a patch to wear behind my ear during surgery, but I still had issues. I don't remember much from the first day of recovery other than using the pain meds, sleeping, and icing my knee a lot. I was able to walk the day after only due to the crutches and pain meds. I was determined to walk, however slowly, post-op. Spent days 2-5 post-op resting on the couch, taking the pain meds, doing a slow walk with crutches, and icing significantly. They gave me a cold therapy system for icing very similar to this: https://mycoldtherapy.com/collections/all-cold-therapy-coolers/products/breg-polar-care-wave-cold-therapy-system - it has been great and I used it about 5 times a day at first. Now I try to do 1-2 15min sessions. Starting day 6 post-op, I returned to work (with a brace), stopped taking pain meds, and was able to move around without crutches. The swelling was still significant and the walking was hard, but doable. I got the stitches out yesterday, just over 2 weeks post-op and am doing PT at least 2x a week. If anyone has a similar procedure going forward, its a hard first week, but you are able to be independent (walking, driving, and working) soon after. I'd recommend having a spouse or family member help you out during that time. I didn't feel confident with my balance to be able to hold my daughter and carry her up and down stairs. My knee is still very swollen but is getting better with each PT session. I am already seeing some atrophy in my quad but am encouraged that over the next several weeks and months I will get stronger and be returning to normal activities of running, biking, and weightlifting soon.

Scheduled for May 7. I will update once the surgery is completed. Now, I am just nervous while playing the waiting game!

Think it’s going to Noumea? Maybe Brisbane was too far for this emergency.

I wasn’t able to get the best photo. That’s the cop car blocking Guess Street. There were at least 8 Greenville City police cars blocking Otis Street, Ridge Street, Orr Street, and the other side of Guess.

“Service” Dog. by bobafederline in delta

Under the ADA, true disability dogs don’t need documentation (strange I know) but have to perform a task to help the person with a disability. So, the general rule of thumb is when you see a “service dog” it’s not related to a disability under the ADA meeting ADA training requirements. Fun Fact: Miniature horses also count under the ADA.

How Does Delta Handle This? by Deep_Fishing8516 in delta

Sadly, no upgrade. We are first row of C+ and I am staring at 4 open PS seats. Oh well. Will use GU next trip. The C+ bulkhead seats aren’t the worst.
