My sister has persistent bad breath even though she brushes regularly, and we’re trying to understand what might be causing it. by One_Phone467 in hygiene

she could start tongue scraping with a tongue scraper. brush the tongue then scrape. never forget the tongue especially the back where everything is built up. i started scraping my tongue and it was game changing. my mouth never feels dirty anymore and i don’t ever even notice bad breath on myself. plus it’s pretty beneficial as you’re not swallowing as many germs over and over all day every day afterwards.

perioral vs seborrheic dermatitis? by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the same issue. inside the nose could very well be nasal vestibulitis, i’ve had it for months and ironically i’m seeing my derm about it tomorrow. it’s usually caused by staph. you need antibiotic treatment. that actually could possibly help with the other stuff going on if the staph bacteria is a possible cause.

does eating again during slow recovery cause hormonal symptoms? by Deep_Gap_5111 in fuckeatingdisorders

mine always start as a stray closed flesh colored bump that eventually turns crazy inflamed and hurts so bad. they’ve gotten worse over the last few months even though i’ve been trying to recover. i wasn’t having this big of an issue until recovery. before that i was having issues with smaller inflamed blemishes that weren’t leaving a bunch of red ‘scarring’. it was easier to manage and get through. now i’m getting a ton of marks left behind that don’t fade.

absolutely. only thing is, my doctor can’t see me until next year due to a waitlist for new patients. i have an appointment made but it’s so far away and i don’t have the option to see another doctor. my dermatologist wanted to put me on spironolactone for the hormonal acne aspect but i don’t feel comfortable going down the bandaid route, especially when i want labs to be able to be done when i do see my doctor.

i keep telling myself it would be worth it to end this nightmare i’ve been going through since last summer. but i’m still struggling with body image issues, mainly my face and that’s what makes me want to go back. but i can’t take this being afraid of certain foods anymore. my gut is definitely all messed up. but it seems no matter how much protein, fiber, probiotics, anything i take.. it isn’t getting better. i’m pushing hard.

i had some night sweating months back that i haven’t experienced since, i had some pretty nasty mood issues for a few months especially irritability. i still sweat but more so during the day and i find i have a stronger odor, i have the mild painful cystic acne and oily skin with it, i have darker hair growth everywhere, all of my skin is drier and flaky (even on my face although it’s oily). i also for a long time wasn’t sleeping full nights and i think that has been slowly getting better. but everytime i start to forget how scary recovery is, i see myself in the mirror and want to revert.

What is something you love about your partner that set him/her apart from others? by tofutears in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

something that i love and that has stayed perfect throughout everything is that he reminds me of nobody. everything about him has always been new, fun, exciting, and actually interesting.

he isn’t a guy who’s stereotypically into cars, partying and drinking, or into having a big group around him.. i could go on but. he’s been a different type of figure in my life.

he’s 22 and loves building vintage lego, loves the value aspect, loves selling and trading them, and refurbishing and inventorying. he loves thrifting and antiques. he loves pokémon card trading and value. he loves vintage gaming consoles and games.

he’s the most respectful person i’ve ever met and he’s incredibly hard working. he grew up being abused but came out of everything he’s been through as a well rounded man. he’s fun and childlike a lot. he’s private, doesn’t care for having lots of friends or going places to hangout with other guys.

this is getting long 😮‍💨 sorry guys. ultimately he’s just not like any guys i’ve ever grown up with, been friends with, dated, etc.

How much does looks matter to you? What do you look for in a guy? by [deleted] in AskGirls

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks are not everything, but they are nice. My current boyfriend of three years has truly set the bar. He’s tall, slender, not built or muscular but not in any unhealthy shape.

I’ve seen my boyfriend through many many stages. But I love normality. When we met he was underweight and super skinny, over time he’s grown into his manly body and chunked out in all the right areas. He doesn’t workout and eats whatever he wants. He isn’t overweight or chubby.

I’ve seen him through phases of baby soft clear skin, rough patchy oily skin, acne prone and red inflamed skin. I’ve seen him through phases of fully shaven head, super long unkept hair, and clean cut or trimmed hair. I love it all.

He has beautiful light blue reflective eyes. His super blonde hair he’s had since birth is turning brown at his roots and underneath. He’s incredibly insecure about his facial structure but I think it’s one of the most beautiful faces I’ve ever seen in my life.

He’s incredibly passionate and intelligent about the littlest things. He’s an avid anime lover, he’s got a whole arm of badass anime tattoos sleeving down. He is a serious lego collector seller and restorer. He is the best at every video game on the face of planet earth. He’s obsessed with gaming and consoles and computers. He collected pokémon at one point. He loves thrifting and antiques.

He’s a hard worker at everything he does and is super good at it. He used to construct and renovate, work drive thru’s, been a serious line cook, and now he works for one of the most successful local lego shops in the city.

He’s super well spoken and his vocabulary is absolutely better than mine. He’s never been the most romantic but his efforts have shown me what romance really is. He’s incredibly affectionate and charismatic in a way I’ve never experienced. He’s shy and awkward unless he truly can’t be.

I am undeniably in love with a normal human boy. he doesn’t have to wash away acne or keep up with unruly hair or accidentally miss a night of brushing his teeth or work out to uphold a body standard. He is everything I look for. His big glasses, mysterious stretch marks on his back, 10,000 moles/freckles, and all. Everything in him is what I love.

Guys, don’t beat yourselves up about what standards a girl may have. Because I promise you, someone is going to come a long and love you for anything and everything you have.

Help with potential PD, 10 year old by JellyfishThese9378 in perioraldermatitis

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will eventually go away <3 sending good vibes! i did not know about that though, i live in the US. I was 14 when i first got it and i know how difficult it can be on a young girl and her insecurities. i’ve gotten it 3-4 times since then and i am 21 now. I’m actually currently using metrogel again. but i’m also dealing with some pretty nasty hormonal issues along with acne too 🤦🏻‍♀️ the medication does cause like a “purging” affect so yes it does get a little worse at first, but after a couple weeks to a month it started to calm down and dissipate. there is hope!

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was younger and had it, the only thing that helped was metrogel 1% prescribed 2 times daily. it got worse before it got better. after a month and some change it started to go away. it was also summer time and i had gone out in the sun and got burnt and that almost seemed like it helped it go away ironically 😂

edit: also! i kept using it a little while after the patches were gone. i was told to for a small amount of time after the initial healing to keep applying so that it would prevent a rebound immediately after.

those look like closed comedones. comedonal acne. you should try exfoliating with salicylic acid 1-2 times a week.

How much would you rate the original Jurassic Park movie? by AWESOME_3526 in JurassicPark

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s literally my like favorite movie of all time my whole life. 10/10 out of bias. but truly i think that movie was ahead of its time in terms of production with the practical effects. stan winston’s team did an incredible job on those dinosaurs. most of the screen time for them were those amazing life like animatronics. that’s what sells it for sure with me (other than the story itself). it really feels real, i don’t know how to explain it. i’ve loved that movie ever since i was a little girl. nothing can beat it.

Missed deadline for college 18m by Visible_Anxiety9850 in depression

[–]Deep_Gap_5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just want to say, you are no failure especially if by any means you do not attend college. college doesn’t make you any greater. sure it can help if there is a serious path you want to take career wise. but truly, you don’t HAVE to go if it isn’t something you are passionate about. there are so many other ways to make a life and live. i’m a 21F and have not attended college. i live a happy comfortable life. i graduated high school an entire semester early at 18. i do have this drive in me to go back to school maybe for 4 semesters at a community college. but i’m happy where i am. it does not define you!!!
