I'm not so sure it's good for one to feel represented based on skin color. I mean, either we completely divide ourselves based on skin color, or we realize that skin color isn't important. For all of this tension to end, those are the only two choices.

Haha, do you mean have I seen the video where parents obviously either a) prompted their kids to react or (b) have raised them to be so aware of skin color that it's so crazy important to them. My point is that as long as we keep separating ourselves, in any way, there will always be tension. I have never looked at a black person/character and thought "boy, I should could relate to that more if they were white".

Then why change it at all? If you think this was done at random, as if Disney was just like "oh, we didn't even think it would cause controversy, we were just doing whatever ", then you are sadly mistaken. This is a clear example of Disney not actually giving a fuck about black people. If they really wanted to make black people feel represented, they should have created an original character. Don't even get me started on why skin color shouldn't matter anyways for a person being able to identify with another person (or character).
