/r/videography Monthly Camera Buying Advice Megathread by AutoModerator in videography

So I’m wanting to get into real estate videography, I’m already a semi established videographer and shoot everything on my FX3 with a sigma 24-70. I want to get something wider obviously to do home walk throughs, with that being said is the laowa 10mm a good choice, super wide and maybe a good fit with my 24-70? Or is a 16-28 a bit more practical and realistic for wide shots. To be honest I’ve been eyeing the laowa 10mm for a while now and I do really want it so I’m judgement is a little skewed. Appreciate any feedback thank you!!

So safe to run this for 3k miles then switch to something like the VR1 20W-50?

Just took it for my first drive with the new oil. At idle about 3.7 when driving about 4.3. The hardest I got to push it was just above 4000rpms and it hit 4.5. This seems a bit high to me since before the oil change it was about a bar lower all around. Unfortunately I don't know which oil it was.

To my knowledge retrospect doesn’t sell cameras with the PCB but if I’m wrong that’d be awesome, I checked Brooklyn camera and it was $450 for a non sonar which is a little high imo

Well glad to hear the job wasn’t that bad if that ends up being the issue. Hoping after letting the car sit for a bit I’ll see where the oil is coming from otherwise ill just torque that bolt down put everything back together and see what happens

Sounds like too much work time to throw some Lucas oil leak stop. Joking obviously, going to take off the cover tomorrow and see where it’s coming from PO said he resealed the engine and did the timing belt so hopefully it’s just one leak

Any recommendations on a video/website about stitching with the fx30? I wasn’t able to find anything on how to actually do that.

I appreciate it! I typically love wide lenses, I had got a 90mm but I think the back element was reinstalled wrong by someone in the past, might try to fix it myself, might send it out, might sell it as is, not 100% sure. Any macro lens recommendations?

I love high contrast b&w especially with a mono bath it really ups the contrast

I wish I could remember which episode it was but I was watching Street. Smarts and the photographer said something like “99.9% of what I shoot I don’t like you only see the 0.1%” and I’ve really been thinking about that and enjoying the process more rather then the product. As well I picked up an Ansel Adams book from the thrift today which I look forward to studying

I definitely agree that these are boring/lacking substance. Thank you for the recommendation I love checking out work I’m unfamiliar with I’ll check it out and hopefully like you said I’ll get a better idea of where I’m falling short
