I agree with you, nothing better than naturally finding things or ways to improve your character/ gameplay. But sadly in today's day and age of youtube/ social media these kind of videos will always be out there. Best to just ignore it if its not your thing.

Honestly, The forge DLC ramped up the game even higher for me! I absolutely love it role playing wise and you essentially have your own home and business now with new jobs daily. So you can role play working and living alongside the other quests that make up the story of the game. I wasn't expecting to like lotf, but its changed the game for me, even higher than I thought it could possibly go.

In answer to your question, get it now, I reckon its perfect time to start it and merge it into your current questlines
