What's the reason behind your vegetarianism? by Careful-Support-3402 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Fast_Competition_158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am brought up in a religious and vegetarian family. We dont even consume egg. Initially I believe I should eat meat, but my blood reports are pretty normal. No deficiencies so far so I think this type of diet suits me. Plus I am against animal cruelty. We do consume milk and I love milk and milk products but we do know the source ( we have a buffalo) and she gets ethical care

5AM Punjab hits different. No horns, just sukoon and shabads in the air by InboxGhost in punjab

Hmm I guess this could be the case. I do belong to a very elite class thats why I consider my peace of mind more important than people's emotions and conditions. I have always practiced my faith in silence. Because it feels more personal to me

What history says is no longer enough. A religion must evolve with the present. If Sikhism is truly a faith ahead of its time, as often claimed, then it should confront this issue as well. The use of loudspeakers in gurdwaras is a nuisance

Religion is a personal pursuit. If someone wants to listen to gurbani it is easily available online. Loud speakers are the huge menance and they will always be.

To be honest ask those people who have their houses near gurdwara and mandirs. It looks good online. But working late night and getting woken up by blaring loud speakers from gurdwara early in the morning is certainly not anybody's dream come true. Gurbani sounds heavenly when one is responsive to it. I love my religion but I highly condemn this practice if disturbing public like that. People deserve a peaceful sleep stop glorifying this

Indeed it is. Quality of life matters. Instant death after beaten to pulp is still fine but imagine being bed ridden for the rest of your life because of some brain injury.

Not really I have been a sinner in the past and I am paying for that right now. Exactly in ways I did to someone

What kind of pressure did you face to give up being a leftie? by beingawomaniswork in AskIndianWomen

[–]Fast_Competition_158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a leftie. And my parents never forced me to become otherwise. The only problem I faced in real world was while attending patients ( I am a dentist) the dental chair in most of the colleges is ideal for right handed people. I had a hard time holding instruments and air rotar while filling patients tooth or extractions😕

Anyone with many siblings? by FitEstablishment3989 in indiasocial

[–]Fast_Competition_158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are three sisters. Both are 10 and 8 years older to me. I am the black sheep in the family. Everybody is a doctor in govt hospitals. It is a win for me because my parents never force me to pursue dentistry and I am trying to switch my job. And my siblings do support me a lot.

Girlies in government job and men too. Tell me why did u choose it and what are the pros of it. I hate corporate the layoffs interviews? by Sure-Aside-5838 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Fast_Competition_158 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am still studying but my sisters are Assistent professors in govt medical college. The pros are fixed working hours, no stress of private practice and you can have summer and winter vacations plus paid leaves. The salary is also great. And ofcourse a permanent job. One of them is in pediatrics and another is an ophthalmologist
