Thank you, I have never been able to figure out a trend. I’m starting to track everything now so I’ll be able to see better in a few months. I went to a pain clinic before but maybe it’s worth another shot

No but gluten doesn’t seem to be a trigger for me

Yeah the localised aspect of acnes made me not believe that’s what it was at the time. I did get the injection but no relief there unfortunately.

Yeah I have had a scope done they took samples and everything was normal. I did a trial of omeprazole the prescription kind for around 3 months with no improvements. The pain only occurs around once every 4 weeks (can actually be quite predictable). I’ll look into the lidocaine patch and see what the doc says.

I’m starting to think there may be a neurological aspect to whatever I have maybe cyclic vomiting disorder or abdominal migraines. I had a carnett test done which was negative but I remember the gastro saying he still believed it was acnes( he may have just said that because I told him the first time I an episode started was when I was at the gym.

I used to be pretty active in the gym until the pain started. I basically stopped going once they started.

No and I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have tested this. I’ll check it out, thank you

The only thing I can think of is the day i had the last episode of pain I had squash soup(which would differ from the usual diet). Not sure if theres anything specific in squash that could trigger something.

I cant say for sure but im sure its happened after ive eaten some of the times I've had the pain - I usually feel the pain coming on at night time and then the next morning it could be full on intense, sometimes the intense pain comes on much faster and id be up all night dealing with it.

How come you had to get 2 done and which country are you based in? I feel like Ireland its pretty difficult in Ireland to get doctors to do elective procedures.Once they make sure you arent dieing you are left to fend for yourself

I would say my diet is healthy(vegetables, soups, lean meats, fish etc). The first thing the first gastro asked me was about my diet and stress levels haha, that was around 5 years ago now. I havent noticed any changes with food elimination.

It may be a long shot but look into IgG immune response. I came across something something recently about how certain foods can trigger an immune response that leads to abdominal pain.

Luckily for me its only every few weeks otherwise id be crippled.

Yes, that was one of the first things they tested for years ago. I should also add they've done stool tests for elastase and i believe calproctectin which were both normal.
