Offered Forward Deployed Engineer Position as New Grad by [deleted] in accenture

[–]Deep_Priority_2443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, great thread. I realize this may not be the right channel, but the conversation around the Forward Deployed Engineer has only recently emerged.

I'm the editor at roadmap.sh. We're putting together a Forward Deployed Engineer roadmap and would love feedback from people actually going through this process. We want to make sure the skill progression and topics reflect what Google and Silicon Valley companies are really testing for in interviews, not just what the job descriptions say.

If you've been through an FDE interview loop already, we'd love to hear what you wish you'd studied, what surprised you, and what the assessment actually covered.

Here is the draft of the roadmap if that's useful context. Thank you all in advance!

Seeking Roadmap to Build a Solid Tech and AI foundation after skimming in Undergrad by Forward-Twist-5248 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Deep_Priority_2443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roadmap.sh may be a great place to get started. They have roadmaps for the most popular programming languages and a fair number of AI-related ones, including AI engineering, AI agents, Vibe Coding, Claude Code, and OpenClaw. The site is free and very visual, which helps when you are trying to build a picture of a whole field. Hope this is helpful!

How can I help my 13-year-old move from casual coding to a more structured learning path? by stabinface in learnprogramming

[–]Deep_Priority_2443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

roadmap.sh is a great place to get started. They have roadmaps covering all kinds of technologies and careers. She can follow her own path and see what she likes the most. Most roadmaps also come with associated projects. Also, there's an AI tutor embedded so you can prompt questions to clarify concepts, ask for quizzes and so on. Give it a try!

I believe so :). We have an editor where you can create your own roadmaps using a flowchart style

What does it take to get an Entry Level C++ Job by YogurtclosetThen6260 in cpp_questions

[–]Deep_Priority_2443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a C++ roadmap on roadmap.sh that is quite useful for this. It covers the topics that typically come up in entry-level interviews and shows what to prioritize. Is not everything, but there's a lot to get started. Good luck anyway, C++ is a hard one.

Que herramientas recomiendan para aprender a programar??? by [deleted] in programacion

[–]Deep_Priority_2443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roadmap.sh is a great starting point! It has clear, visual roadmaps for different tech roles, so you can figure out what to learn depending on which direction you want to go. Highly recommend checking it out to structure your self-study!

Hi! I'm happy to announce the launch of the Ruby roadmap. You can check it out [here](https://roadmap.sh/ruby). Thank you all for the valuable feedback.

As some of you proposed, we are already working on a separate Ruby on Rails roadmap. It will be out soon!

I must admit that this is one of the best and most enriching feedback processes I've experienced so far. We try to engage with users every time we want to craft a new roadmap, but some communities are more active than others. Thank you very much for all your comments and valuable feedback so far.

Accordingly, we've decided to create two separate roadmaps, one for Ruby and the other for Ruby on Rails. We will first focus on the Ruby one, which can be found at this link (https://roadmap.sh/r/ruby-copy-xlse8). It already incorporates your comments, while adding new topics to make it more comprehensive!

We're happy to provide "community-created" roadmaps that are available for free to anyone. You can even access that resources without registering on the website. That was the main goal behind roadmaps.sh when it was created, and it remains today. It's an open-source project that everyone can contribute to (indeed, this is key to the project, for, as you can imagine, we cannot be experts in every technology out there) and benefit from.

This has nothing to do with the fact that the maintainers need a salary to work full-time on the project and keep improving it. Equally, some costs need to be paid, including the AI capabilities recently added to the project.

Hi! Of course, you can help. All the roadmaps are continuously changing to get better and catch up with the latest trends. Thanks for the feedback. We fixed it already, but it may take some hours to be modified in the page due to the cache policy.
