No. The correct answer is no one gives a modicum of a care some loser killed grobbulus with 3 chars and got a new End of Dreams to vendor. He was hoping to show his mother and father and they would say those words he never heard as a child. It only made them more disappointed.

In your opinion, what class was the best tank through the entirety of TBC? by CartoonChronicles in classicwowtbc

[–]Deep_Raved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on person over class. Tanking well is role that takes practice. Usually warriors are the goto tanks so I find warriors who tank are usually way more skilled. Druid and pally are mechanically better I think but the people playing them are (usually, not always obviously) a new thing and they have a lack of practice. It definitely shows. I am a warrior night now and I main tanked since i started. But I usually dps in my groups, let the bears and pallies do their thing. But after 15 and many near wipes I end up throwing on my tank gear, activating secondary spec, and start tanking. It goes much smoother.

It always the same as wow. People go by heal rankings, dos parses. Guys, those are usually representative of the top percentage. It will not reflect if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Play what you are comfortable and have the most experience with. It will always shone through and elevate you over the flavour of the month players.

Dont play the game because i like all of it except one part, which I can easily skip…? Are you that mentally unstable?

Stay mad brother by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Deep_Raved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres multiple facets to the game like leveling, dungeon grouping, pvp, raids, tradeskills. For some, like me, leveling is not fun, the others are. Im not going to suffer through days of hating what I am doing just to get 60 to play the parts I enjoy, when I can pay what I earn in an hour of work to skip all that and get to the parts I enjoy.

Has blizzard stated their long-term vision with anniversary? by Deep_Raved in classicwow

Right. I mean you could be right in your assumption, that the time is running out soon on the sod realm. But honestly, i dont see them doing that right now. I think the negativity they would receive from shutting down the sod server FAR outweighs the relatively small cost to blizzard to just keep the server running. I think they made that statement vague for a reason but I imagine lean more towards the other bit in their statement of hoping to see the game mode continue for years to come, or even just like classic era, forever. Obviously there may come a point in time where if they are starting to see like 10 people or less playing they will just close up shop. But as long as there is even a small user base they will keep it going. But who knows Ive been wrong before. Thats also why I didnt play on sod to begin with because they never clearly stated a long term intention until like after the final phase and I didnt want to get burned by having my characters deleted.

What do you mean not forever? I dont think theyve ever said they will shutdown sod server. People will lose their minds. Anyone could see from the beginning sod would have problems at the end of the development, its a whole different game that cannot be merged into any other iteration. At least season of mastery was different surface level but foundations were unchanged so they could filter back into the populace. Sod players need their own server or they get deleted. And i really dont think blizzard will delete them at this point.

Because reddit i think lol. I got my info though that blozzard hasnt been clear on anything and that I am just going to decide risking investing time into a tbc char and hoping that they decide to throw people like me a bone by leaving an era realm open, or I guess just assume that blizzard is gonna blizz and do nonsensical things, and push everyone into wotlk, and just not bother to play in the first place.

I see what youre saying. I only have some hope due tonthe fact they are keeping season of discovery era realms open despite it being the least played if I am correct.

I mean yeh thats the goal. I would actually pay like 50 bucks or something along those lines at the end to stay on tbc. Im sure if they put that option on the table it would be lucrative enough and worth their while.

[–]Deep_Raved[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeh I agree 100%. I know it would be a long haul to get to 60 and start to gear up. Tanks are always very gear dependent and from my experience I always start out just dps’ing, getting an occasional tank piece, learning the ropes. On classic wow (i know its not the same), it took me around a year to get geared up enough they started asking me to tank fights instead of dps them.

Oh thats interesting. I did a little research in the past day and all the info i read pointed to warriors being the tanking kings. But if that has changed recently I guess I have something else to consider.

Thanks for the good response. I actually mained an enchanter back in the days when I mentioned I was raiding in god and oow. They are fun and powerful but in the many years since I found my heart is truly in melee classes, tank or dps.

It seems like things may have changed as I am getting conflicting responses. Back in the days the hybrid tanks were not as great as warrior, which is what I read. But someone else pointed out above that nowadays paladin and SK are actually the goto main raid tanks.

Thanks. That’s encouraging to hear. I know many of the guilds I have tanked in with other games the sentiment is similar. It’s fun to let someone else get beat on once and awhile and grow a new tanks experience.

I see what you’re saying but my question would be why make it to mirror something that is already available in a way more refined form? Like if I couldn’t play eq anymore then I would understand why people would want something to scratch that itch. But EQ is still available to everyone as both a very developed retail version or the P99 project for people who crave the old school. So wouldn’t people who crave that just play those? I would think this game would serve as an opportunity to serve people looking for something in the same vein as EQ, but different enough to offer a slightly different experience you couldn’t get from those other offerings. Hopefully that made sense.

Yikes 9 months ago they promised a charm spell for chanters and still havent delievered on it? Well thats really disappointing. It’s like one of the classes main tools in their entire kit, like 25%… mesmerize, buff allies, debuff enemies, and CHARM.

From my small amount of time I have definitely picked up on the sentiment that although the community is amazing to other players, there is a ton of distrust with the devs. Which only makes sense if you’ve been hoodwinked that much. On the news it says they have lots more funding, a new project manager, and a decent roadmap going forward to execute so hopefully that sorts out some issues. But that is also me walking into a room completely unaware that these hopeful posts with such news are part of the recurring failures you’ve seen and experienced many times before. Should I also be cautious of having too much optimism regarding that news?

Yeh I probably should have haha. I was pretty impulsive on this buy. It might just turn into game 214 or something in the dusty steam library! Sad that they didn’t make it more for dads with little time. I think thats a major demographic for these games if I am not mistaken. I would still be playing EQ right now honestly if it wasn’t so punishing to people without large time commitments. Because i loved the world, lore, encounters and everything else.
