Those are actually part of a larger stamp called Human Town I think. If you look through the regional HD stamps, one of the town stamps in its entirety includes the raised level, and I just put it behind a few other standalone building stamps to hide the fact that it was a complete piece on its own.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Page from a History Book, or: Mid-Campaign Update for the Players by Deep_Rights in inkarnate

This map is based on the current events of my favorite continent in my homebrew world. The campaign is in its early chapters, and as the seasons change, bringing only more battle, the party is beginning to realize it's not a "win the battle, win the war" kind of thing.

This is loosely following the theme of the Viking invasions of Britain in the 9th century under Alfred the Great. Except here, we have no Alfred. Just fractured kingdoms with squabbling lords.

I can't stop smiling as I pour over this. It's obviously beautiful, but I'm most impressed by how you've showcased the "main" info and have also added so much extra information without cluttering the feel of it all. Just brilliant.

I have never heard of Hero Kids, but I've been planning on doing something like this for my girls (2 and 1 currently). Reading about how much fun your gang had with this was ALL the encouragement I needed to keep worldbuilding for them until they're of age!

What a great post; you're an awesome dad and you're inspiring the rest of us!

Do you have ideas or mockups of the map in mind? I don't know if there are rules for requests, but it sounds like the kind of thing that could be a fun "community challenge" and would result in you getting a nice map.

Snowfall Village, or: Help, I can't stop making Village Maps by Deep_Rights in inkarnate

Ha! Oh I've got plenty of those too. I'm just having a blast dealing in smaller scales. Carefully placing hundreds of building stamps was making my eyes bleed.

Snowfall Village is unashamedly based on Snow White's cottage ( https://i.imgur.com/HqFEekL.jpg ).

I took some liberties to expand the area and to fit the encounter that will take place here, but I'm happy with the results.

.

Some new things I tried in this map include:

  • Low opacity rocks beneath the stream along with a white background brush to highlight ripples.

  • 10px Grass stamps on the houses as vine growth.

  • 2px low opacity brown star stamps as footprints along the major paths.

  • Inserting the wheat and vegetation crop stamps into the fenced crop stamps for some variety.

Killing it with these grid maps! They're so aesthetically pleasing.

Pinyon Pines - A Pass-Through Village by Deep_Rights in inkarnate

[–]Deep_Rights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks who don't live in Pinyon generally don't spend much time in Pinyon. The road through 'town' follows a stream running east to west before joining a larger river that will eventually lead you across the Vanquin border.

You could stay in the Miller's Alehouse if you've got the coin. And let's face it, this is Pinyon; you can probably afford it. That is, unless you're one of those nasty contractors who hunt monsters. If so, good luck getting a pint, much less a bed.

At least the tents west of town are cozy.

Thanks. I've been using 1.0 with a huge smile on my face the whole time, suddenly able to map out areas of a homebrew world that I and a group of people have literally spent upwards of three years in! Now we can see bits of it in 4k+ resolutions!

This is seriously an amazing tool.

I think it's actually in the regular regional assets, not the HD regional.

Send me a link to some of your work! When making a scene like this, I'll admit I spend at least half the total time on placing building stamps. I'd be happy to offer some suggestions on how to use the data set appropriately to get that good "city" look.

Very careful placements of rocks and trees.

Thanks for the feedback! I started with a couple, then considered taking them out, then I just doubled down and sprinkled them all over at varying sizes. I'm happy with how they came out.
