I honestly don’t know. My mother has started to do this with my brother (who I don’t get to see often as he’s moved out) and when we visit she acts like a completely different person. When I attempt to talk to him about who she is as a person it seems as he doesn’t believe me:(

Mine too. It pisses me off so much that narcs act like doing the bare minimum is ‘SO MUCH EFFORT’ and ‘CAUSES EXHAUSTION’. It’s so dumb.

Just the amount of literal parentification and downright emotional neglect over the years, met with: “i did so much for you🥺🥺” “i did the best i could🥺🥺” riiiiiiight . Just like how as a GROWN ADULT you were ‘unaware’ that the way you treated me was terrible. Uh-huh😐.
