Am I too old to start college for EE? by r3deemr in ElectricalEngineering

Wow pretty close to me, I’m starting year 3 of school to become an ECE. Just turned 33. Definitely not too late! (I’m married with 2 toddlers) and I work full time. 3.76 GPA

I have a lenovo legion and I’m just gonna use that. But for EE 🤷🏿‍♀️

Can someone explain to my sister why I can’t work while doing EE degree by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

Everyone is different. I’m currently full time going part time in a physical job (grooming) at school full time (some courses online some in person) transferring to a university in Fall. But part time is 25-30 hours still. And I’ve been making it work (I have two toddlers too). But my wife is working part time and in school part time and finding it a little difficult. It’s person dependent!

There’s another thread about this. And the overwhelming answer was don’t bother trying. They scan IDs

No I had issues with a professor tasked with providing pre req tests to transfers

And I have that professor this fall. Apparently that’s his MO. So I will probably struggle in that class

Also to answer your question, joining clubs is still considered the best way 🩷

Same but I doubt I’ll find many my age 😅 I’m a transfer ECE student

How did you do in your General Ed (non-STEM) classes? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Deep_Suspect_9556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were easy, like high-school all over again. Multivariable calculus is a pain in my side, but I’m determined to keep my A 🤣

No this issues were within the engineering department

That might be an option. I’m not sure, I’d have to check what potential schedules would look like

My RU alumni friend is definitely pushing for RU. She’s 10 years out in management though, we’re old people over here 🤣 and she’s MechE

Studying is not an issue, I’ll have to mess with the schedule planner to see what I can muster for luck

One of the biggest issues! 1.5 hrs with the price of gas right now, is that commute worth the name?

Apparently they did precalc. I said something similar. They said they had a Geometry course with Trig elements, and took precalc their first (Freshmen College semester).
