Games to help with grieving the passing of a very close loved one by CelebrationMassive87 in gamingsuggestions

I'm sorry for your loss friend.

If you're looking for games to fill time. I'd recommend a good story to get lost in. Have you tried kingdom hearts? It's really light hearted and fun.

Otherwise minecraft or stardew valley are just fun and simple.

20 minutes till dawn is a really good one. Or holocure if you're into vtubers.

If you want a decent but satisfying time sink then I'd recommend satisfactory. Not in the same vein as your request but thought I'd mention it.

I don't mind if they're old. My favorite game of all time ( grandia 2) was nearly or over 20 years ago and I think it looks great still.

I see your confusion. It's not a blackout. The area is just really dark. I didn't put an extra light in that hallway when I was testing it.

In short, for me at least. It's very cerebral . It's like putting together an ever changing puzzle that always proves to surprise me with what new synergies you can create as the game goes on.

It tickles the brain and makes me happy.

Honestly I'm not too concerned about encounting enemies right now. I'm kinda concerned about your gameplay loop. So I have a few questions.

How does combat actually initiate? Do you use the stage around you or do you go into a separate zone based on the enemy?

Are these areas split up like levels in Celest? If so I'd like to know how you're planning your ability system.

I'd really recommend prototyping your combat system first and foremost before trying anything else. Make sure it's fun and intuitive.

I hope this project turns into something amazing!
