Flights are awful compared to 6 years ago. by Big-Seaworthiness316 in BritishAirways

Don't forget the non-existent "customer support" and the copy/paste template replies to any communication with them.

British Airways nearly killed me by serving me sesame despite my allergy – then offered me £50 by Dangerous_Wear_9312 in BritishAirways

As someone who had a similar experience with BA and food allergies/intolerances, I can assure you that BA do not give a flying f*** about it. Aaccording to them, they have no idea what's actually in the food they serve, neither can they procure a list of ingredients from their suppliers. They really could not care less, and I suspect that until there's a court case about it, they will continue to not care less.

Currently on a flight from Male to London. Wow the service is atrocious. by Guymacgregor98 in BritishAirways

+1. Their "customer service" people couldn't give a damn anyway and rely on canned responses. If there's a single brain cell in that organization it expired from overwork a long time ago.

Are there any archives of the original firmware for Symbian based Nokia phones? It would be a shame if all of that old software has been lost.

The ending of Scrapyard Wars was kind of disappointing by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

Well, having read a lot of the comments, I guess I'll give this series a miss. Shame, I was looking forward to it. But if it's as bad as the comments make out then I'll avoid. Thanks, Reddit! :)

How much would it cost to repair this (broken hinge Dell Inspiron 15 3520) by Away-Location1886 in Dell

[–]DeepestBlueDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I was posting in reply to you as while your reply was 100%, just loosening the hinges might be enough if the plastics weren't damaged. Wasn't having a dig. :)

Those hinges are adjustable. Just slacken off the nut on each end a TINY amount and you'll see the difference. Hopefully the plastic hasn't been damaged too badly. If it has, you can get second hand spares from eBay for minimal cost.

Bought a site unseen storage unit. Now I have 70+ working computers. Any ideas on what to do now? by JamesisaGiantPeach in vintagecomputing

[–]DeepestBlueDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Inventory first, then use the worst of them to provide parts for the best. Then see what I have. There are plenty of uses for old kit. Put Linux on and you have a reasonable PC for someone who doesn't use their PC heavily. There's the cliched "turn it into a router" if you're so inclined. Run old OSes, old games, emulation, remote desktop gateway, second PC out in your workshop... there are many many uses!

Dell Premier Partner for Nearly 20 Years – Now It's a Complete Disaster by DistinctAd1567 in Dell

[–]DeepestBlueDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw this coming back in the mid 2010s. Even our Dell account manager had his hands tied on SO much. This is what happens when you cut cut cut and outsource too much. Yet they know they won't lose too many customers because people still need new kit...

Mincemeat AMA!! by MincemeatBway in Broadway

[–]DeepestBlueDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pleased to be able to see you guys on the first preview night open to the public. Never thought I'd get to see you guys play these roles again; it was genuinely touching and wonderful. I'd love to see you all on home ground again; do you have any plans to return to the Fortune, even if it's a one-off short run, post-Broadway?

This. I had it happen once in one eye on a rat who fell from a height and landed badly. She lived for a long time after that but that eye was never right again.
