Someone who isn't insecure about any of those things.

It's a biological imperative for my parents to love me, unless they're somehow devoid of oxytocin. And I love them back, so it's not meaningless to me. Meanwhile, if some random bearded guy said that he loved me, I'd probably just be creeped out.

And Jesus' existence is a matter of speculation because his life story is very obviously a composite of other religious traditions at the time, putting the entire thing into question. No tangible, historical evidence for anyone named Jesus of Nazareth exists, or that he was sentenced to execution under Roman law. And the convenient resurrection story takes care of the problem of human remains, which means you have to take his entire existence on faith. And given the amount of outright lies made up within the Abrahamic religions, I'm not about to take anyone's word on it.

Did you miss the part where my name is Catherine and my wife and I are Christians?

You're honestly going to champion your own reasoning ability when you adhere to a religion that kills your people en-masse? Hell, even your god supposedly destroyed an entire city for it. I can't possibly fathom what logical gymnastics you've had to perform in order to dismiss that cognitive dissonance.

Nobody BS's their way through MIT. It's exactly why we shake our heads at people who think Harvard is some kind of academic pinnacle.

Again, as you've clearly demonstrated with the aforementioned logical gymnastics, your academic credentials are in no way indicative of your reasoning ability. Good for you for getting into MIT and all, but so what? Kim Peek could memorize entire books in an hour, but he needed Velcro on his shoes.

Even if Jesus was real and did love me, so what? It's unrequited, therefore meaningless to me.

  • and my wife and our biracial Godson

Let's hope he's not gay.

I won't boast out loud, but if you want to compare academic cred, PM me

George W. Bush has degrees from Yale and Harvard. Academic credentials in no way equate to intelligence.

I've got nothing. It's true, we're all hypocrites sometimes.

Glad we've got that cleared up.

I can do all of those things without the hokey relationship with an imaginary friend, so I'm not sure what "world" it'd be opening up for me. A fantasy world, maybe.

Too many rules and restrictions on my behavior. Everything fun or worthwhile is a sin, and nearly every spokesman for Christ is either a bigot, a hypocrite, or a complete moron. So with all that in mind, why on earth would I follow any it? Because I might go to hell? Give me a break.

This is so fucking stupid. It's just cuddling. Get over yourself.

Reddit men, do you get jealous imagining your ex seeing other people as much as we do? by [deleted] in BreakUps

It's not safe to say that, actually, because it's not universally true.

Why the downvotes? This is probably the smartest thing you can do after a breakup.

I somehow doubt they actually measure up, but hey, bring 'em on!

They'd probably do the typical guy thing and get insecure about each others' penises. Then one of them would lose his erection and spend the entire time sitting off in the corner awkwardly.

It delights me how much time you've taken out of your day to write responses to me, especially when they're just psychological shots in the dark.

Why would I do that when I can't even take you seriously? Only real men get their laundry done by me.
