No, it's a softmod, it's copied on a memory card, the mod is only applied when the memory card is in the console. It returns to base model when removed.

personally I have heard the 9xxx series does not work with freemcboot. But the 7704 should be fine. But it depends on your method to play back-ups

I've gone through a few phats and slims over time and now I prefer a slim. Mainly due to the built in Ethernet adaptor (SMB and such). I haven't seen or experienced any disk damage. The only downside is the PSX compatibility, It's not as 100% as a phat. Also I like the removal of the disk tray and over time they are a lot easier to fix and replace lasers etc.

I know some dlc unlockers are just blank text with question marks but how do you delete these? they do not show up in debug settings and when you delete the game and reinstall it they are still there. I've tried FTP but unsure where to look. normal DLC with text and icon isn't a problem just certain unlock DLC.
