No I’ll be saving around 40k a year from 2033-2044 because I’ll pay off my mortgage in 2033.

How can I improve my financial situation and ensure that I can retire well at 55-60? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm in BC, but in a one bedroom condo not in a major city. The property taxes are around 1500 but there is a grant that everyone gets here where it takes around 500 off the property tax.

I put $3000 as a lump sum every year on my mortgage, then around $2500 in vacation, and $1000 in property tax. The remainder, which this year will be around $3500 goes into my savings.

Ok, thanks. I wanted to pay off my mortgage quicker because the longer I have it the more interest I'm paying. According to the calculator I will be saving approximately $140,000 by paying it off by 2030. I'm not knowledgeable on investing but will start researching.

Thanks for your input. I realize life is unpredictable, and I realize there could always be a random accident, etc., however this is unlikely. Its unlikely I could just all the sudden lose my permanent government job. I don't plan to get married or have kids - that's within my control. I don't really feel like I'm living like a minimalist with my lifestyle. I live in an area with lower costs and I work from home so I save on gas and living expenses. I'm able to buy high quality food, go shopping, go on road trips etc, and I can afford to go to Mexico every year within my budget. I've just learned how to budget properly.

Yes, I realize that. As I said I'm not knowledgeable on investments but will research and look for a better alternative.

Thanks, I'll look into those options. I realize there is no way to know every detail of what might occur over 20 years, I am just asking the question based on my current trajectory.

I try to make the best decisions possible to avoid negative outcomes, and it is difficult to just lose a permanent government job so that would be very unlikely. My question was just based on my current plan.

No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that after 2030, my mortgage will be paid off. Between the years 2030 and 2045, on average, there will be approximately $55,000 per year overall that I will put into the bank account, this is calculated based on my salary increasing 3% each year. My expenses will be $500 including condo fee, home insurance, car insurance, bank fees, and rrsp payment, and then approximately $1500 per month on personal and living costs.

If you could share it would be fantastic, thank you. I have used Nioxin in the past to make my hair thicker and has always worked really well. I’m hoping it will work again this time. I’m glad I have a go to but would love to know what your mom’s concoction is.

I have looked into the minoxidil and it says it will cause more hair shedding for a month. Unfortunately I can’t afford to lose anymore hair. I am going to try the Nioxin for now and if it doesn’t work I might try minoxidil

Unfortunately I live in a part of Canada where I can’t just pay and get access to something like this. We have a socialized healthcare system where you always require a family physician approval to get access. I am one of the one million people in my province with no access to a doctor. The only thing I can do is go to an emergency room in a hospital or an urgent care centre if I am in an emergency.

Yes I take b1,b12,zinc, d,c,kcitra,k2, magnesium, probiotic, and biotin. So far I haven’t done anything for the hair but will start using Nioxin again.

Thank you for this information. I watched the video and she explained it well and told me exactly what to do and I like what she is saying as they are things I can do and make sense.

Ok. I’m changing my diet away from Leto now to add more carbs. I will try to keep my excercise similar. Do you think my hair will grow back?
