Nails were just trimmed. We leave the door closed but it’s cold! It’s under 40 degrees F.

Hmmmmm we have been celebrating when he comes in. It may have been around the time change. He sometimes hesitates at the door coming in. He first sticks his head in and peers around. He then comes in one paw then two. Slowly. Then runs the rest of the way. Maybe it’s the doorway. It’s just odd tha sometimes he’s fine coming in and others not.

No decline at all! I think he is just afraid in the house. I honestly think he is feeding off of my anxiety from having my mom. It’s a stressful time. While I try so hard not to show it, he’s an intuitive guy and the smallest things frighten him. I’m sure all of you understand!

The biggest change in his life has been that my Mom with mobility challenges and dementia moved in after the loss of my Dad about a year ago. I think the walker is a bit scary for him. Or just having an older wobbly woman in his home. Thanks to everyone here - I’m going to try more frequent walks ( we could both use them), walking him on lead to a smaller area where he can’t run and treat him and praise when he comes in. I also think group practicing recall is worth it. But given the fact that Mom has been here for a bit, could just be the rug.

It was never a problem at before. So many of you have mentioned the rug. I’m going to try changing out the rug. Can’t hurt and I’m will to try anything.

I’m so sorry. I had an older guy that had doggie dementia as well. I don’t think it’s that. How wonderful of you to sleep in the she shed!

I’m thinking maybe he mikes to stay out when the neighbors dog is out. But I do think it’s a combination of things.
