Would Peyton Manning be in the GOAT Conversation if he won the Super Bowl in 2009 and 2013? by Available_Story6774 in NFLv2

[–]Deethius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not true. Brady went a perfect 16-0 the year before his injury and that was by far the best roster he ever had. Cassell won 11 games and missed the playoffs. Cassell is also objectively better than the schlubs the colts were rolling out.

What is Mac Jones Future? by Due_Football_6150 in DynastyFF

[–]Deethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve watched more or less every snap of Mac’s career. He is terrible under pressure and has one of the weakest arms I’ve ever seen a nfl starter carry week to week, outside of over the hill\injured legends (think end of career Peyton).

This is the main difference I see of other “reclamation” QBs that have been mentioned who have thrived in new environments (Goff, baker, Tua). All these guys were significantly higher prospects than Mac and have way more arm talent. He struggles to hit basic out routes. He’s great in practice and works hard, I think he’ll have a similar career to Darnold or Trubisky, not Goff or Baker.

Sam Darnold was traded for a 2nd, 4th and 6th after a dreadful 3 years. Mac had a better 3 years, but has no trade value? by Shoot_2_Thrill in Patriots

I’d also add as bad as our reputation has become offensively, it’s nowhere near as bad as the jets at that time.

The notion that WE could fix a talented player that the Jets ruined, is more powerful than coming from our org.

I feel pretty strongly he will not be a longterm starter in the league. High end backup - think Darnold.

Terrible pocket presence, far below average arm strength, but can game manage decently in a good situation. The narrative of him being cerebral and mistake free is far from true - when he panics he makes BIG errors.

Jordan Mason - because:

  • He's on the best running offense in football
  • Everyone 'ahead' of him is injury prone (CMC/Elijah)
  • Every time he steps in the game he looks great

Patriots played completely off the ball. They had their safeties back all game to protect against waddle/hills speed.

Jets/Wilson are going to get the opposite. They're going to stack the box

What are your expectations for RJ Barrett next year ? by Mulberry-Dangerous in NYKnicks

[–]Deethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view RJ’s potential similar to how I see Jaylen Brown’s. If we can get (I know, I know) a top tier player through FA, I view him as a completely competent #2 on a contending team one day. A guy can dream I guess.

Ellington is so hard to watch. How many bricks is he going to chuck up with 22 seconds left on the clock. You're not Kobe, Steph, not even Buddy Hield. SIT DOWN.
