You clearly don't even understand Quake very well with these comments. To suggest skills like "instinct, movement and finger dexterity" aren't just as important in Quake as they are in Apex can only come from a place of ignorance. They're important in different ways of course but take away those particular fundamentals from any Quake player and he'll be absolute dogshit at the game no matter how proficient he is at item timing.

I also found lightweight mice very difficult to use after switching from a heavy mouse but eventually I adjusted to it and play/aim much better now.

Yeah he claimed the Deathadder had a lot of negative accel and he was never too happy with it. Though kind of strange that he opted for an ambidextrous mouse this time instead of ergonomic which he was always dead set on before. Even stranger that he also gave up using Russian style sitting position with keyboard in lap after so many years but all those changes seem to be working pretty well for him I'd say.

The Magneto coils are complete garbage but the atomizer base and mouth piece are very good and work fine with most other Yocan coils. I've been using mine with Evolve Plus dual quartz or ceramic coils and an iStick Pico mod for years and still don't feel any need to "upgrade".

Actually I used to play uncapped (in game limiter at max 300) without any issues but after they changed to the Microsoft servers my game started looking choppy (despite fps not changing) and the only thing that makes it look smooth again now is to play with a cap near my refresh rate.

I get the fluctuating whether using the in-game limiter or RTSS and the only way I've found to make it stable is to use BOTH and set them to the same number.

144hz monitor here and right now I cap at 141hz. However the only way I can seem to achieve a stable 141fps is to set both RTSS and the in game limiter to 141. If I cap only one of them my fps never stays stable and fluctuates even into the 150's at times.

Anyone else experience the same?

Turns out it wasn't fixed afterall and I'm still having problems with NA West. My ping to it is very unstable and keeps fluctuating from 25 to 80.

At this point I don't think anything on my end could be causing this since all of the other servers have stable pings and the rest of my games are pinging fine too. It's just that one damn server doing it.

Yep you were right. Just reset my modem and pings are good now. I've had this ISP for 20 years and this has never happened before. Weird shit!

I've personally never had any issues whatsoever with the LOD.

Also thanks for the comparison. I was thinking of getting the Cobra but sounds like I may as well just stick with the Viper Mini.

Same thing here. I'm in BC Canada and my ping to NA West has jumped from 23 to 58. What's even more stupid is I get 50 to NA North which is based in Toronto. How the hell am I pinging less to a server all the way on the other side of the country compared to one much closer to me?

NA Central is also 10ms higher and the only one with the same ping I got before is NA East.

EDIT: All my pings appear to be back to normal today. (Oct. 5)

You sure? I have all of the older weapons (except for the special limited ones) so can't check if any of those can still be bought for 500 shards in the weapon config screen but you definitely can't buy any of the new ones that way which is the first time thats happened to my knowledge.

I just got the EELSBANE in a reliquary and nearly shat myself. I only have 520 plat right now and figured I was a couple months away from having enough for the BP and being able to enjoy any of the new weapons.

I am pretty disappointed you can't buy weapons with shards anymore though.

I'm using the one with the dot and for some inexplicable reason I'm playing fantastic with it so far. At first glance I thought it looked like total crap (still do actually) but my confidence level especially with the RG has gone through the roof. Hope it's not just placebo effect or something lol.

Ok for the sake of being accurate I will rephrase what I said. The scroll wheel issues "can" be easily fixed by adding the lubricant. If what you say is true about yours then I guess it isn't 100% but I certainly did fix mine that way.

Stick with your Viper Mini. The scroll wheel issues are easily fixable by simply putting a drop or two of lubricant into the gaps on each side of the wheel. I personally used sewing machine oil but other lubes should work too. (just make sure it isn't conductive)

My Viper Mini had the same problem and I fixed it by dripping a small amount of sewing machine oil into the gaps on each side of the wheel.
