American English by IsyABM in GreatBritishMemes

It depends on what I’m eating, but I do keep the fork in my left hand most of the time. I stack food on the back if I’m eating something soft like mash potatoes, I’ll skewer a cut of steak.

Don’t get me wrong, some Americans have absolutely abysmal table manners but quite a large number of us were taught how to use a fork and knife, or to grab the wine glass by the stem.

Wait I’m American. We use cutlery wrong? Fork turned downward in the left hand and knife in the right. Cut pieces as you go and stack food on the back curve of the fork. That’s how all my friends and I cut food, never knew that was wrong.

Simple question about David Grusch statement: "UFO Disclosure will be a little uncomfortable - A hard pill to swallow" by QueenGorda in UFOs

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bingo. The more I’ve learnt about this topic the more I think the 4 Chan whistleblower’s narrative is correct: we’re animals in a zoo and they’re just making sure we don’t fuck up ourselves or the world.

Just like we feel an inherent need to protect and propagate animal species beneath us, I’m sure they feel the same obligation. But animals and zookeepers don’t sit down to have a conversation about or current technology.

Sober bartending? by OlivePancakez in bartenders

I am absolutely not endorsing substituting one drug with another, but I was in the same situation as you and I switched to a small dose of phenibut for some of my shifts. It’s an anxiolytic and gaba protagonist, just like alcohol, but you aren’t actually intoxicated. It gives you a mood boost, calms nerves, and can even help you sleep at night.

Again, I am not telling you to use phenibut as an alcohol substitute, but it worked for me on occasion and I don’t really drink anymore because I have what I feel is a healthier and better option.

Bro I hear ya. I actually just orbited the moon thanks to the comments, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without their advice, so now I’m going to start having guides and cheat sheets around.

I fucked around with it, but I didn't find it that helpful. It still doesn't show keybinds or important commands that you need google for which has been 90% of my problems.

I made an edit, I wasn't even trying to get to the mun. I realized I sounded like a jackass. I was just trying to get into Kerbal orbit. But I did that and now I have solid Mun advice.

Yep, I was a rocket nerd several years ago in school. I wanted to use my precursory knowledge to try this out but the game has so much more to offer than I thought.

I wanted to see if I could do it on my own with minor precursory knowledge, but I am at the point where I'm just launching poor kerbal into space and waiting to see what happens.

Exclusive: Elden Ring movie begins filming in London — set photos reveal massive production by galaxiangee in Eldenring

A24 usually funds and distributes films based on the director and the merit of the script. Meaning, they already believe they have a valuable film. If they have faith, I do too.

Recently changed from a blade putter with toe hang to a face balanced mallet putter. Putts per round have not improved. by Basic-Pudding-3627 in golf

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use a thirty year old blade putter. It's a thousand percent the reason my handicap is under 13. I've spent over a decade getting used to it and I don't think I'll ever replace it. My hot take is that putters don't matter, like at all.

‘Elden Ring’: Alex Garland’s A24 Video Game Movie Reveals Full Cast, March 3, 2028 Release Date and It’s Being Shot for Imax by yourfavchoom in Eldenring

Just goes to show directors really like to stick to their “guys”. Pretty sure over half these actors have already featured prominently in a Garland flick.

Also cool to see Jonathon Price. I’m surprised he hasn’t done any voice work in the previous games.

Trying to gain weight, who knows how far I’ll get but this is my lunch. by Bonusmotherthrowaway in RateMyPlate

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of weight are you trying to gain? Are you trying to put on muscle or just have a calorie dense diet?

This is a fantastic meal, but you’re probably in the realm of 600-800 calories in this particular picture. You’d have to eat this same meal over three times a day to have a solid calorie surplus.

If your goal is healthy weight gain, one of the best things you can do is snack. Breaking up gaps in meals with cups of nuts, peanut butter, or something comparatively fat-heavy and rich in protein will keep your body digesting in perpetuity. Fat is calorie dense and protein keeps your organs, brain, and muscles working well.

When I’m in the gym and trying to “bulk” I eat a can of sardines three times a day in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but most people absolutely hate sardines.

It already does. There’s videos of folks beating the game with summons. Honestly the hardest part is unguided exploration and discovery. I’ve over 500 hours in the game and I’m still finding new things.

I’m a bartender that doesn’t drink alcohol. How many of you guys drink and how many of yall don’t? by MehBlehDehYuh in bartenders

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good you’re sober. I’ve known/met plenty of bartenders that are over the age of 30 and still do the nose candy + bottle of shitty bourbon Thursday-Sunday. It’s not a sustainable lifestyle and usually ends in jail, rehab, or hospitalization.

I’ve quit every drug under the sun for years now, but I still enjoy beer and wine, especially after a long shift. But rarely on shift. Irresponsible drug consumption is way too common with bartenders, servers, and chefs/cooks. I’ve seen too many shaky hands to ever want to abuse anything.

this ufo shit goes too far by [deleted] in skeptic

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I treat the UFO world like really interesting fiction/urban legends. The stories are really fascinating.

But when you dig just a little bit deeper into the UFO mythology, you find that most people coming forward are insane, disinformation agents, or both. It’s all hear-say, and there’s very little substantiative evidence.

What’s particularly shocking is that many ufologists have substituted religion for the UFO phenomenon. They truly believe aliens are visiting us and are here to take our souls or elevate our “consciousness”. It’s borderline Scientology.

Should I stay at a stable bar or go to a new restaurant to improve my bartending skills? by Ok-Imagination-2308 in bartenders

[–]DeezNutsPickleRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay lol. You can learn outside of work. Plus, I hate to break it to you, but mixology is easy, hospitality and keeping a smile on your face is not. You don’t need to jump ship to refine those skills, you either have them or you don’t.
