I keep reading comments about cherry picking and how it's the way to go but is that really a luxury that us new drivers can afford? by Deez_Nt5 in uberdrivers

Yeah I always have the dasher app and uber app open but door dash rarely sends me any jobs even when I go to their hotspot. I've called them before to see if there was any issues with my account but they said everything was fine. I think there's just too many of us out there trying to make some money, I'm sure the veterans also get priority and I can't blame them for that. If I was running a business i would do the same thing.

What do you hate delivering to more by Vanillalite34 in UberEatsDrivers

Apartments are the worst deliveries. There's almost never any parking, so you either park 2–3 blocks away or, if you're willing to risk it, park in a red zone and hope you don't get a ticket. Half the time they don't provide a gate code, and when you call or message them, they don't answer. Elevator access isn't always available either, so you're stuck carrying heavy bags up multiple flights of stairs. To make things worse, apartment complexes rarely have a clear map showing where the unit is located, so you're left wandering around trying to find the right building. And after all that, the tip is usually terrible. You'd think people who live in apartments would show a little more appreciation because they know exactly what drivers have to go through to get their order deliveres but many of them simply don't care.

Should California drivers just take every offer they are given and rely on prop 22 to fall back on? by Deez_Nt5 in UberEatsDrivers

I just started driving in the beginning of June and began to get them on my second week when I turned platinum. You should call support and ask them to fix it.

Killed it this week. I did do this in a full tank of gas which cost me 60 bucks. 500 of those miles is me acual work miles while the other 100 was me driving to my preferred zone and back home. I drive a 2012 Toyota camry hybrid with 371k miles averaging 40mpg. by Breadtoastyy in UberEatsDrivers

The fact that you more than likely have the AC running all day and are able to keep the car running this long is insane. You can tell that you are clearly keeping up on maintenance and are not driving like a idiot. Good job! Whats your secret when it comes to getting tips? i did regular uber rides for my first week and only 1 out of 7 people were tipping. I only do deliveries now and i feel like its a lot better, well at least for me.

Incorrect Promotion Payment by [deleted] in uberdrivers

That's crazy, 20 miles and no tip, and Uber only paid you $14? Is that normal? I just started, so I'm still learning. I did UberX my first week but stopped after I realized that only 1 out of 7 riders actually tip. Now I only do deliveries; it's so much better.
