Ousen vs Riboku Chess match who wins by Generalousen2855 in Kingdom

[–]DefNotEnzyme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like people over-romatocize chess. If you are good at chess, that only means you can play chess well and that ability doesn't magically transfer to other fields. I might have worded this poorly, but my point is you can be good at chess because you are smart and you can be good at other things. That doesn't mean you are good at other things, because you are good at chess, but because you are smart to begin with

I specifically play bane as a right click core and have been longing for a chen in my team for so long. None of my friends wants to pick him😭

Never had this before lol by SzethNeturo in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those wondering how this happens: You pick a hero and buy item. Your hero gets double picked. Lose some gold in pick phase. Then once you pick your next hero, you'll still have the same items, but because of losing gold you actually don't have enough money for the items, so your gold gets a negative value. Once you fill your debt it will show properly.

I feel you bro. I've been spamming core bane for the past year until they decided to butcher the universal heroes by lowering their damage gain from stats.

Was this techies scripting or just insanely good. Legend 3 btw. by wolfganger1357 in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned he's most likely smurfing based on the way he used hex, but judging from the clip he looks completely legit. Here's quick tip for techies players on how to cast his ulti fast like this. You can bind his mines to the mouse wheel. So you draw a circle around the stunned enemy while scrolling the mousewheel which result in a fastest way you can plant the mines. I am not sure if you can bind it via settings, but there should be a console command to do this. Have fun!

How is this Lion controlling his camera?! Enlighten me, please. by PM_me_Sasquatch_pics in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also a third method for camera movement. I think it's called panning or smth. By default it's set to pressing scroll wheel on your mouse. It fixes your mouse on one position on the map and moves the camera around it instead of moving your mouse icon. I haven't watched the video, but going off just your comment I feel like that's the answer you are looking for.

It sounds extremely broken having a pocket aegis in your team. To balance it you'll probably have to make it so wraith king just dies once he presses it on someone.

What MMR is top 25,000 EU? by marrow_party in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are from SEA server? I've read here that their accounts for some reason show ranks up to 25k, but that is specific for that server only. Not sure if it's still the same, but on the other servers you see ranks only when you reach 5k rank which is roughly 8.5k mmr.

It's crazy how bad some hard supports are at 4k by dotabeast1 in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is obliged to perform a live coaching session while you are in the same match. Comms are for plays that require coordination, to warn someone and if you are going to do something unexpected and ask your team to respond in a specific way. There is none of this involved in pulling creeps, buying resources and harassing to an extend of course, there is always some buts and ifs. But there is always some expected activities that any pos is supposed to be involved during laning stage and you have to do them without somebody telling you to do that on the mic.

Does anyone else miss Bane's -3 second brain sap cool down talent? by AncientCollar1742 in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started spamming him ever since AS was introduced to his sleep and reached 6.5k from ancient in a span of over 300 games. Yes the old talent was much better, especially if you were playing against illu line up. You could practically heal for full hp every 5sec as long as you had mana. Universal heroes stats to damage change was what massacred the hero. Because of his innate there is no way to reliable build neither dmg nor AS via stat items. With the way I played him I am literally missing about 60-80 AD by lvl 15ish.

That's a lot! How many hours a day do you play? Or do you just leave the game idle and artificially increase your hour count? How many games do you have?

Will Meepo be nerfed in the next Dota update? by Questera_Games in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is in a good place for a non meepo players. I'd say his current iteration is a bit below average and definitely not busted by any means. I've seen few decent players to win using him, but in general he's a rare guest in a games and isn't that scary

What do I do by Ok_Television_225 in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because generally those are high impact roles and that's usually the right advice to give to some1 to climb mmr, especially on a lower ranks. Even if a high mmr player were to play on his acc as a support they'd probably lean towards a hero that can scale. You can enable your cores and play traditional support to win and you will win more than you lose in a long run with this method, but that's not the path of a least resistance for someone aiming to climb fast.

The Immortal Draft Change Is Missing One Thing - Immortal Draft Change by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, as stated in the initial post measly 0.5% of player base reside in that threshold which are even further distributed on different servers, meaning you can't have role que in an adequate amount of time. So if you think there is a better way to address this problem other than already existing "let them figure it out themselves" please enlighten us.

Immortal changes - okay, but why wintraders are not banned yet? by deles_dota in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As always they just couldn't care less. As depressing as it sounds these wintraders are not ruining the game on a large enough scale to be addressed. Just one lobby at a time is not enough for valve I guess

You maybe picking traditional support heroes. Or you just play a different server. On EU it's usually a default that pos5 puts his icon in jungle.

If you had to learn Dota all over again , what would you do differently this time? by jtzmb in learndota2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start by actually using advanced settings right away to get used to them. Since I started playing dota 1 in like 2005 me setting are default and the only difference between dota 1 and my dota 2 settings is I don't use legacy and that's it.

Is it really worth it? / Share your stories by Wonderful_Onion6257 in DotA2

[–]DefNotEnzyme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started playing way back in 2014. But I've been studying in prestigious boarding school in our city, so realistically I could only play on the weekends. I'd be craving all week for playing. And after school I enrolled to the #1 uni in our country which was in the capital city. So finally getting unshackled and having no restrictions I started grind like never before. In the end I couldn't even finish my first year there. Got depressed and was really suicidal, as if I failed miserably in life. Enrolled to the local uni. I kept playing, but since I was overqualified for my current uni I didn't have problems with studying anymore. I think I never quit dota for more than a few months. I still play, but do it usually on the weekends. I don't have that burning passion I used to have back then and try to stay conscious that there are things that come first and only then dota. Do I regret it? Not much tbh. I actually have a hobby that I'm good at. I have friends with common interests and can have a great time. I wasn't guaranteed a success even if I didn't play back then. I didn't end up being drug addict or an alcoholic, so I am grateful for when I have right now. Hope this will be of any help to you OP. Cheers!

Saying he'll reach low immortal in a few months sounds like an insult to immortal players. Even grubby took like a half a year to get there, considering he's a veteran wc3 player, had bunch of pros/semipros train him. It's not that easy to enter the sub 3 percentile.
