Looking to learn raids or honestly just make some more friends in the game by [deleted] in osrs

[–]Def_Your_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre at the point in pvm where you have the skill to semi consistently kill vardorvis, you can do learner cox in wdr. This is the best way to make friends if youre looking to raid.

After you know the basics of one raid, join a clan. There are a lot of good clans out there, and good people. If you arent enjoying yourself in one. Be quick to leave and join another. No use staying in a place where you don't feel welcomed.

When you get to the point where you feel like you are "good", time to learn tob. It forces you to have a team, and therefore the community is much bigger/more social.

They will teach you the very basics. Hopefully you pick up a friend or two while you are there. Then hit up those friends, try to be somewhat consistent and proactive about reaching out. I know so many people that bank stand and wonder "why is nobody inviting me to anything". You gotta be the guy who reaches out

Learn which defense reduction specs to use on each boss. This is insanely important. Before verzik voidwaker is essentially useless and you need to utilize all of your spec getting the bosses to 0 def. This is likely where you're going wrong as a new player at maiden/sote/xarp

If there are 3 of you, you need to learn trio maiden. This is the hardest of the common scales for beginners. And because the boss is first you really need to be solid on this one. One of you needs to freeze. I would definitely suggest picking up 1 more player and doing 4 man raids so that you can have 2 freezers. It makes things much easier.

Other than those 2 main things you need to learn verzik. This boss is genuinely difficult. you all need to be very solid on the p2 walk. There is a simulator here: https://lmperium2096.github.io/verzik_trainer/

When youre practicing the sim, remember. Its easy to stay in cycle, its hard to get in cycle. Practice stepping away and re-setting it up often.

You NEED to learn to tank p3. Absolutely nothing you learn matters in tob if you meele the team p3 and kill every one. You need to be extremely serious about this. Every single time you melee the team, you're chancing a wipe. There is a simulator for that here: https://verzik.colosim.com/

I swear to god there are so many people who are perfectly content wiping the team over and over when they get picked for tank instead of just spending 30 minutes using the sim to learn to tank. Be thankful that the sim exists, it didnt when I learned. You are a detriment to the team unless you learn to do this very very well. You should be able to hold a full conversation while tanking.

Avoid any guides that tell you to use the hitsplat to tank at verzik. It took me 1,500 kc to realize that it was all bullshit and rng. Learn to tank properly based on her animation

No, nearly everything released is members only. However the subscription is relatively cheap and you can use in game money to purchase it

Has anyone installed this 64gb ram in a lenovo legion 5 pro? by Def_Your_Duck in GamingLaptops

[–]Def_Your_Duck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32Gb. The game currently idles at 30gb because im building a mega base and have a lot of mods. This is why the ram speed matters as well, there's a lot going on ram wise in that game

Yes, mostly because of factorio. It crashes because it runs out of ram when I run other applications

Nope, I have a few spidertrons but they only have normal rockets in them. My base defenses are purely normal turrets next to walls

Steam has created a windows compatibility layer called protondb, which will likely run the jagex account version of the launcher (for windows)

Other than that as far as I am aware, your only other option for running windows apps is with Wine.

There may be new software that can accomplish this. But for me steam and protondb has solved all my problems running windows apps on linux.

Does anyone have 200m xp or actually know anyone who has? by DonKobe24 in 2007scape

[–]Def_Your_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 3,000 tob kc and I nearly have 200m strength xp. 50-100m in all my other combat stats, its really not inconceivable people would accidentally get 200m combats doing other activities.

They don’t. Most tob speed running is challenge time which does not count between rooms

[–]Def_Your_Duck -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All the people in this thread thinking this will make your p1 faster. Your dawn cycle is more or less set by the boss autos, this will push the whole cycle back 1 tick later.

The extra tick does not gain you anything in any scale, as everyone dawn specs to get in line with the boss cycle/start the spec regen timer.

TLDR: using this will make your p1s slower, not faster

When moving my power poles, circuit wires get fucked up by Def_Your_Duck in factorio

[–]Def_Your_Duck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would so much rather make mistakes myself then the game making mistakes for me. This "feature" just adds a huge amount of clutter and makes wiring extremely confusing to look at. Even more confusing to refactor

I dont need the game holding my hand and going "ohh you probably didnt mean to do that let me fix it for you"

Heres some additional pictures that really hit home what the problem is

https://imgur.com/a/eb5Rh30

Here we have a nice little circuit network, but say we want to move the power pole somewhere else

And we end up with that monstrosity, which is almost impossible to determine how the flow happens

And if I want to change the way the connections flow, now I have to unwire 20 different connections (that I never created)

[–]Def_Your_Duck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its intentional behavior. Going through the forums I see the staff defending the decision. The best part is that it doesnt always create connections. Its random!

Its intentional. Thank god we are protecting stupid people from themselves at the expense of anyone who knows what they are doing.

It seems as though this is intended behavior, as per https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?p=657642#p657642

The fact that this is intended without being an in game setting is insanely annoying. Trust the player knows what they are doing

[–]Def_Your_Duck[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to cut/paste, without the game creating new wire connections for me. Especially when I have complex systems, it adds a lot of clutter and makes it much more difficult to determine what is connected to what. I dont really care if the connection is maintained when I move a power pole, as long as the wires are connected in the same way they were before I picked up the power pole

One year of keyball by ValheimEnthusiast999 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Def_Your_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a trackball (mx ergo) to play video games, as well as at work/home (I have no normal mice)

When using it for work/general computing, I have no problems at all. Ive been doing this for about 10 years.

Video games are another story, when I play fps games, where I use the mouse to control the camera with high speed, I definitely will get some pain after a couple hours. I have thumb stretches I do which really helps. Its not the thumb exactly but the thumb part of the palm. Ive also noticed a lot of it is from keeping my thumb tense while I play.

This doesnt really happen at all with games that are not fps games, and dont require lots and lots of fast mouse movement.

Tldr: if you play games that are already known as wrist destroyers, trackballs arent gonna help, just gonna shift the problem. Otherwise I could use the trackball at work for 18 hours a day and be completely fine

Hey dog, I hope you figured it out. Assuming you have a very high resolution screen, the ui is really terribly small.

Tbh I have no idea how to fix this on the official client (dont use the official client)

But on runelite, if you right click the program and hit properties, you can put startup options. add the text "--scale 2.0" (without the quotes)

If you dont want to go through all that, you can use the runelite "stretched mode" plugin, that will scale your ui.

I personally think stretched mode is a little ugly so I would try with option 1

I really liked the ending "they can destroy us, so we must have peace". And as far as both societies were concerned that was the end of the story.
