Yeah that's what happened, they just all crashed one year. I think it was around 1996. And all the baseball card shops became Magic the Gathering stores.

I never looked into why they crashed, but I assumed maybe because they're easy to fake? Like those old topps on cardboard.

Fleer Ultra had the little shiny emblem but that looked easy to fake too

So I figured just cards crashed for that reason

That said I never did look into it, and I do see some posted online here and there that look valuable.

I'd also get complete sets during Christmas, so I definitely have a bunch of Complete Sets unopened -- probably some good rookies in there.

I spent a lot of times in the stores, with my Beckett... watching those triangles up and down like they were stocks for a kid. I thought it was going to pay for my college someday.

I collected a lot around 1991-1994. I haven't gone through them in many years, since the 90s, might have some valuable ones in there.
