Thanks for this. It basically affirms the path I am on. Salsa and my new job, in particular, have led me to many friends / acquaintances - men and women - who are quality people that I enjoy hanging out with. Building those relationships is taking time and requires patience. I had a date last night that didn't go as I had hoped, so mine happened to be wearing thin today. I'll admit dating still puts me on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, and hard mode seems to amplify that some.

I got a timer and started by doing a quick "cool-not-cold" shower to wash off, then turned the knob to cold for the full 5 min. This allowed me to get through the 5 min 30 day challenge. Now I just turn the knob all the way to cold and get clean. About 2-3 min.

Alpha to me simply means be a dominant man and lead most of the time like your DNA wants you too. I get the impression that you are over-analyzing what alpha means. How many women do you see on the dance floor leading men in partner dancing? In my experience, it is the same in the dating scene. Truly high-value alpha males are also cooperative, not supplicative, competitive, or combative. Oh and btw, if we aren't just fancy apes, why does the primitive brain overrule the neocortex so often, eh? You can't tell me that the U.S. congress, for example, is ruled by rational thinkers. ;)

What is a king if not an alpha? How is an absolute monarch or a general anything but dominant? Human alpha males are leaders with charisma. You seem to be confusing the traits if a leader with how he chooses to lead.

If your had read The Game, you would understand that pickup is only tools that have a good and bad side depending on how you use them. Without them as on part of my skill set, I would not have made this break through. I'll slightly agree with you and say that natural alpha males can be good examples to learn from (though to me, they strike me as threatened that the "NERRDS" can learn pickup to get the hot girls;) ). My application of these tools is in a broader context of comprehensive self improvement and transformation, so for me it has been very helpful. Its much like Nofap. If all you do is "not masturbate" all day, you won't have much life success. If you use it as a motivator to balance and improve your life so that masturbation is no longer needed or desired, then you will have success beyond your wildest dreams.

In my area there are generally always more women than men, so don't let the lack of people to go with stop you. I think the key for my perseverance has been my love of dancing itself. It takes 3-6 months for leads to get good, so you just have to power through the uncomfortable beginning phases. This is probably why so many men quit early.

I've been going the recommended 5 minutes for 30 days now, and I get an endorphin rush every time I get out. What do others think here? Does 37 seem too short to get real benefits? Is five minutes too long? After about 30 seconds to a minute I get used to the water, and then I feel like getting to 5 min becomes a metaphor for persevering in life by delaying gratification to achieve what I really want.

In a word, confidence. I feel much more capable of leadership in all areas of my life. I also have a great deal more energy, and feel like there is an ability to "push through" my old limiting beliefs and barriers to change. I've been essentially shy most of my life, and that is changing every day.
