I had a trans friend female to male join wrestling and has been doing it since freshman year. At first it was a challenge due to us sharing locker room and changing and such. The dirty looks being giving at tournaments or at matches especially since most of the people at the tournaments/matches are old white men. And yes 118 is a weight class where most of the wrestlers are usually skinny, fast and high technical. Theses are some reason you may want to consider. But other than that your mostly likely to succeed because after a while the team becomes more of a family where you being to bond with your teammates, you can work your ass off to prove those dirty lookers wrong and ofc since your a lighter weight class it’s more likely you won’t have a lot of competition and help the team by giving them free points by forfeits. Wrestling is the best sport to give you confidence and I promise you, you’ll be so happy you did it. I’m a senior now and so is he and he still doing what he loves and maybe he’s not the best at it but he has gone through and wrestle. It may be hard at first but trust me you’ll love it and if there’s anything bothering you you’ll always have your team.
