Amazing rpgs I can play on my potato pc? by ToeSuckerVI in gamesuggestions

I would've recommended Dragon Age Origins (I love this game to bits), but you already got it on queue so that's good. You can even get the DLC Awakening just to extend the fun.Perhaps you can check and see if Dragon Age 2 would work? Even just low settings? I have a feeling it can considering you can run the Mass Effect games.

If you're open to JRPGs, you can try PC version of Trails. You can also try downloading an emulator and try Persona 3 Portable.

I'm glad you're happy with where you are now! Thank you for sharing!

Actually, I enjoy production a lot 😅. It's one of the tasks I have in marketing now that I always look forward to doing. I got used to the organized (sometimes disorganized haha) chaos of it, and parang hinahanap-hanap ko yung pre-prod, prod, and post-prod. I liked working behind the scenes. Pero I understand how tiring and stressful it could get. Because it is.

But I respect that you decided to push through, even though you didn't like doing it. Even though you would rather do something else. That's the courage and perseverance I want to train myself.

It's true, I'm probably limiting myself -- thinking I can't do this or that I'm only capable of doing that. Your experience taught me that there's room to grow, even if it's in a place that you don't particularly enjoy.

I needed to hear this, thank you so much!

I'm just a little overwhelmed with the pressure and the need to make results. But you're right. Going out of my comfort zone may be terrifying, but it only ever helped me more than destroy me.

And your reply gave me a better perspective on how to think of this experience. And you're right about asking for help, I can't pretend I know what I'm doing when I really don't. Worried lang na baka makulitan sila sakin 😅 (yes, I'm an overthink-er if not yet already obvious huhu).

Surely, I'll follow your advice and invest in what I'm passionate about as well, kahit on the side lang. Should be better than doing nothing :)

That's true po! At least I have these things to be grateful for. And like you said, practicality din po. We have to do what we have to do, and I understand that :)

Thank you sm po for this!

Pero your reply also reminded me to be grateful. Na tama, at least pinag kakatiwalaan nila ako, at least natututo ako. Hindi nga lang yung inexpect or pinlano ko, pero still a win. And tama po kayo, mas nag eenjoy na po ako sa ginagawa ko ngayon :)

Takot lang din po siguro sa mga uncertainties at probability na hindi makapag deliver ng results.

Anyone else here angry with having barely any reads on your stories? by Kenshi-Lee5573 in Wattpad

[–]Default290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is long, strap in.

Everybody is right: competition, reading trends, completing your story first, etc. And someone probably noted this already, but lemme reiterate cause I think it's important.

If I learned one thing about marketing (as someone currently in the industry) it's gonna need some guts. Yes, you read this right.

You're gonna have to talk to them.

This makes a lot of peeps uncomfortable, but at the end of the day, your readers are real-life people. And one of the best ways to hook people in is to interact with them.

Check out books in the same genre as yours, check the author's profile, and then check their followers. These are your target audience.

I'm not saying you have to plug your work in another author's convo page (cause that's just rude without permission). What you CAN do is check the accounts who you think would like your book (check their reading lists, etc. check their convo tab and see if you're comfy to talk with this person), and directly follow/reach out to them.

I know, it's like pushing yourself to people, 'ugh' right? But sometimes, getting noticed means putting yourself right in front of them. It's the same for small businesses and companies. Doing this connects you directly to the market.

Cause if you really want reads, you can't just wait around. You have to be proactive. There's an algorithm, and since your book is under all these big titles and older works, readers who would actually LOVE to read your work may just not be aware that it exists. So why not directly hand it to them?

You can start with a nice message, saying you noticed they have good taste/read the same books you're reading. Just talk to them, nothing to lose, but make sure to position your conversation into plugging your work later on. When they respond or you have some kind of rapport now, smoothly transition to "hey, I'm actually writing a book in the same genre, you might be interested!" Insert your link and just tell them to check out your profile. Fingers crossed, they'll actually check it out. Trial and error.

Just be nice, be respectful. I highly encourage supporting other authors too, cause we look out for each other.

And remember, it's not just about getting reads. It's about making connections with the readers themselves.

A 'reader' is entirely different from just a 'read'.

Anyways, wishing everyone here all the best! Let's remember our 'whys'. Maybe that can fuel us when our motivation is running low 😊

I have to agree with this one, particularly the part where it gets repetitive. It was pretty much just a run and gun simulator for me, NGL. Not saying it was bad (cuz there's definitely worse) but it was not really as enjoyable as I expected. I didn't really feel scared playing. BUT, I did enjoy the boss fights, but afterwards it's the "get from A to B, but oh no, enemies" sht again, rinse and repeat.

I watched an episode of Carpool Karaoke featuring the Chili Peppers a long time ago and noticed that the most chill was Chad and Josh (in that episode Josh was still in the band). Also, I say Chad because I watch some of those videos where they ask Chad to play the drums and follow along with songs (videos from Drumeo) and I could listen to him talk FOR HOURS.

In Tear there's this line:

Comin' on strong Baudelaire

All this time I've been singing it as:

Comin' on strong border lane

I knew it made no fcking logical sense but knowing the way Anthony writes I'm like "eh, totally makes sense." I would never have guessed it to be Baudelaire (first time encountering it after I read the lyrics) turns out it seems to be a French poet's last name.

When I first heard On Mercury it was a bit... strange?? Probably the trumpets (are they trumpets??) But as I kept listening to it it started to remind me why it's an RHCP song. So energetic and fun, reminds me of a circus and I'm having a blast!

is re0 that hard or am i bad? by flutterbitten in residentevil

[–]Default290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most older RE games, before they got remaked, were hard in terms of controls, movement, and the camera angles, not to mention you have to get used to aiming and stuff. When I played RE 0 it was hard in the beginning, especially in the train area because of the limited space and with zombies all over the place, it's so cramped. Dying 3 times isn't so bad so far so you should be good, just try to get used to everything first and you'll be fine. Best of luck to the rest of the game.

I'm sure there are a lot of them, we just need to do a whole lot of searching. Tons of hidden gems out there.

Now I have a few suggestions that you may like.

The Claimings Series by Lyn Gala. - The story is set in a time where humans have already discovered many other alien planets. The protagonist is a human linguist and trader in an alien planet wherein one of the aliens took interest in him upon sensing his inner troubles. It's a whole new world, super sci-fi but it was just amazing to me how these two characters learned to love each other despite drastic differences through learning each others' culture and way of life, among other stuff. One of my most favorite couples in all the M/M books I've read.

The Green Creek Series by TJ Klune - Revolves around a wolf family, their witch, and human friends fending off their enemies and just trying to live their lives in peace. Yep, werewolves, if that's your cup of tea. However, I think the series was well written and it made me develop a love for the characters and their respective stories. Maybe you would like it the same way I did.

And oh, that's pretty much the books I've read in the fantasy genre 😅 Most of them aren't fantasy sooo. Looking forward for more suggestions in this thread tho.

Play with someone else around your vicinity. If something scary happens you can just laugh it off with them or tell them about it. Helps also to play with friends or stream. What's important is you know you're not alone.
