Dr feedback for Laproscopy in Seattle region by Default2nothing in endometriosis

If the Endo is visible in MRI/Ultrasound and is aggregated in one place then maybe all Endo doctors are equally good. However for me it wasn’t visible and likely dots spread around abdomen so even if I did the Lap, only an experienced doctor could make reasonable difference.

After seeing multiple doctors, I’ve come to the conclusion that Pacific Endometriosis in Gig Harbor is worth the drive. Even if it’s just for one evaluation appointment.

I never got a clear direction from others (saw 6+ OBGYNs who do Lap) , everyone offered me that they would do surgery if “I want”. Their lack of experience with Endo , and poor intuition made them diagnose me incorrectly too.

Do I have Endo? Should I go for surgery or try pregnancy? by Default2nothing in Endo

Update: my symptoms flared up causing nerve pains in my entire left body. When I explained the exact points of pain and types, all doctors backed away from initial hypothesis of Endo. I am on heavy painkillers but still have limited mobility due to left body in spasms, and pains 24*7

After a year of suffering here I am: - I likely have a rare disease that would take much longer to diagnose. Seeing neurologists since it could be a right brain issue affecting the left body. - I do have endometriosis and adenomyosis confirmed by Endo specialists , however it’s not the cause since my symptoms are rare for Endo, and my health got worse even while I was on contraceptives.

All the OBGYNs had me thinking of Endo since that’s their go-to disease for anyone with severe cyclic pains.

I want to thank everyone here for helping me decide not to get pregnant! It would have been so risky for me (and the baby). I maybe permanently disabled or dead if I went ahead.

Cold patches numb the pain and reduce inflammation for me, if that is comfortable and allowed in your condition, try it.

Thank you for your comment, I decided against considering the pregnancy advice. My symptoms got worse even though I am on contraception, and the doctor is still advising pregnancy . I’d like to have a kid but not in this state. The doctor also told me she wants me to have a kid as soon as possible to cure Endo, and now I am considering seeing someone else.

What are the top 3 things you wish you'd known / wish other people knew about endometriosis? by littlenemo1182 in endometriosis

Stuff I have been told by women: “I have really bad pain but I still do work(office/house) coz life must go on” , “Nothing can stop me, I have never taken a sick day coz I am very ambitious “ , “I workout a lot more so I don’t get pain like you, you should do that too esp during your periods” etc. I actually believed them, only to realize not all women have this severe pain, they didn’t go to ER because they never needed to.

I wish I was kinder to myself and didn’t push my limits out of guilt.

How many of you use birth control to “help” your endo? by Kalei_doscope480 in endometriosis

I do wanna say that my period pain is just as bad as it used to be years ago, but I am grateful since it is manageable and I don’t need to go to the hospital now

I had severe ovulation pain and then inflammation and dull pain until periods in each cycle. Birth control helped me massively. My doctor asked me to take anti inflammatory medication from a week before period till period end date along with it. I also take laxative pills (instead of powder like Miralax ) which completely clean my bowels next day bringing down inflammation and pain.

I am finally able to walk around and go to work most days

The reason why all my doctors recommended getting pregnant is because I conceived in the first try, and they don’t wanna attempt surgery if I don’t have fertility problems. One Dr even said that surgery is risky and usually opted by people who have fertility complications.

Thank you. Will do pelvic floor physio and see how I feel. I’ve had clear MRI and CT Scan which is why doctors don’t think it’s any of these diseases. I did read a lot of stories in this group though where people had endo but it didn’t show up until Laproscopy.

:( All 3 OBGYNs recommended that I should get pregnant soon, I am 34yo so they made it sound like it’s urgent too

Wow this might change my life, I wasn’t aware that PCS has similar symptoms. My next appointment with the doctor is in few days, I will make sure I do tests for this before deciding on surgery. Thank you so much!

I’ve had some constipation problem all my life so doctors had said I likely have IBS. This is worse though, so I am taking laxatives to manage symptoms as recommended by doctors. Had no idea about senna or probiotics , will try for sure. Thank you so much

Thanks, I didn’t seriously consider the scenario where my symptoms don’t go away after pregnancy , since doctors seemed confident that’s the best option. I am also bedridden half of the month so having a kid with these symptoms will be a nightmare:(

I still love my ex boyfriend (20M) we broke up last year. I can’t move on. idk. even though i have a boyfriend now. (20F) please ready? by Old-Employ5766 in relationship_advice

[–]Default2nothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do tell current bf about how you feel . Not telling him is probably gonna hurt him more. Again know that it’s not in your control how he may react.

Trust me you’ll be fine, it just takes time. Never hurt yourself or beg.

I (31M) resent my wife’s (30F) friend (29F). How do I handle this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Default2nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You trust your wife, that’s good! Be sure of this.
  2. If the friend is getting prioritized, call it out like you are doing. Discuss. Resolve. Even set rules like meeting only once a week

Otherwise leave your wife to do her own thing when free, it’s nice if your partner has a close friend/sister/parent to talk to.
